the creation of the the Interstate system. Was permissible Constitutionally ONLY because of the national defense rationale for rapid transport of troops, equipment and supplies inside the U.S..

It’s a job stimulus project.
I wonder how many Chinese workers they will import to build this railroad?

He compares the Obama administration's push for high-speed rail to the creation of the the Interstate system. Hold on to your Wallet$$:
"The initial cost estimate for the system was $25 billion over 12 years; it ended up costing $114 billion and taking 35 years to complete." (from wikipedia)

If they’d build a high speed rail system between NY and CA, maybe the liberals from those two areas would leave the rest of us alone.

So you think the postal clause is all about rapid military deployment?
You're not much of a constitutional scholar, are you?

When we went to NYC we looked at Rail vs. air, rail was far more expensive.. wound up driving with two kids in the backseat, won’t make that mistake again.

Now nothing against Chattanooga.. I spent an afternoon there one week end.
To: Willie Green; All
The name of the game for the Military is speed.. You can’t deploy military units fast on trains... It is faster either on highways or planes..

$114 billion over 35 years... Is that all???
Heck, we can afford that pretty easy... It's a LOT less than what it cost us to bail out the banks that were "too big to fail."
