"I fully respect, I admire the American Constitution and I understand that the purpose of the Second Amendment is to guarantee good American citizens the ability to defend themselves and their nation," Calderon said to a joint session of Congress during his May visit. "But believe me, many of these guns are not going to honest American hands."
So would you have us profile those who are seeking to buy firearms? Is this an admission that some of those from south of the border are "dis"honest?

I am now so skeptical that this does not pass the smell test.

The sounds like a severe case of “racial profiling”. How do they know that these two “Joe Blows” weren’t taking this stuff to Mexico to be melted down and made into bed pans for Mexican Children’s hospitals.

“Calderon said that 75,000 guns had been seized in Mexico in three years and 80 percent of those that could be traced came from the U.S.”
Yet Mexico hasn't sent the ID numbers to be verified.
Watch out of the *international* police actions.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are investigating the seizure, but Baeza said the presumption is the vehicle was heading to Mexico. "Two Joe Blows aren't going to buy a bunch of weapons and it stops there," Baeza said. "We're pretty positive it was headed to Mexico." He declined to release the names of the two men in custody... That would be Señor Obama, and Señor Calderon....

Mexico should be policing the border for their criminals bringing guns into Mexico as well as keeping their citizens in.
Oh sorry forgot, if they did not help their citizens get in our country their major source of money would be cut off. I wonder how many Mexicans have had their families 'protected' in exchange for money from the US?

The seizure Saturday afternoon came less then two weeks after Mexican President Felipe Calderon asked Congress to help stem the flow of guns from the U.S. into Mexico. Yo, Felipe! If there wasn't the demand, there wouldn't be the supply.

So what was the crime?
Having new, boxed rifles is not a crime. Having 200 magazines is not a crime. Having 53 bayonets is not a crime. Having 10,000 rounds of ammo is not a crime. Thinking about going to Mexico is not a cime.
Exactly what was the crime?
