Exclusive: Are the Turks Preparing for War Against Israel?
FamilySecurityMatters.org ^ | June 1, 2010 | Paul Williams, PhD

Posted on 06/01/2010 1:41:06 PM PDT by GiovannaNicoletta

A statement from the Turkish government promises “unprecedented and incalculable reprisals” against Israel for the Israeli Navy’s seizure of the Marmora, a Turkish vessel, which was leading a fleet of ships through the Gaza blockade over the weekend. The statement has received the support of Hezbollah, an arm of the Iranian government, and Hamas, the Palestinian network.

Such measures will not be confined to diplomatic censure.

Reports from Ankara, the capital of Turkey, state that the government, which remains under the control of the Justice and Democratic Party (Adalet ve Kalkinma, AKP), is planning to continue pounding the Israeli blockade with more flotillas that will be escorted by Turkish warships and fighter jets.

Israel merchant vessels moored outside Ashdodport have been instructed to sail into port and take shelter in case of missile attacks from the Gaza Strip against Ashdod and Ashkelon.

In expectation of an outbreak of war, the Turkish chief of staff Gen. Ilker Basbug has been recalled to Ankara from a visit to Egypt. Greece has since halted its joint exercise with Israel in protest against the naval action.

Israeli warplanes have headed west over the Mediterranean on Monday morning in support of the still ongoing Israeli commando operation aboard the Turkish Marmora, the scene of violent clashes between Israeli troops and the 600 “peace activists,” some of them armed.

The Turkish government, under Prime Minister Recep Erdogan, reported 15 dead aboard the vessel. Israeli army spokesman, Col. Avi Beneyahu, called the incident “an act of terror on the high seas.”

Far from being a humanitarian mission, according to Col. Beneyahu, the flotilla was sponsored personally by the Turkish government to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza and permit arms supplies and terrorist to reach the Gaza Strip in an unrestricted manner.

The Israeli army spokesman said that the Turks aimed at provoking a widely publicized international incident with fatalities in order to show Israel using strong-arm tactics against unarmed peaceniks.

He further maintained that the Turkish government refused to heed warnings that the vessels would be prevented from entering Gaza Port and rejected Israeli offers to ferry their aid cargo overland to the Gaza Strip.

An estimated 19 activists were killed battling with Israeli troops, and dozens more were injured. Ten Israeli soldiers were wounded, two critically.

According to the Israelis, passengers, armed with knives and iron bars, mobbed the Israeli commandos as soon as they landed on the deck of the Marmara. One passenger allegedly snatched from a sidearm from an Israeli soldier and proceeded to fire at the commandos.

In the midst of mounting tensions, the Arab League Council has called for an emergency meeting today to demand Egypt to end its joint embargo with Israel on Gaza.

Egypt will face pressure to end its joint embargo on Gaza with Israel at the Arab League Council meeting urgently Tuesday, June 1st. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas demanded the session.

Demonstrations against Israel continue to rage in Syria, Iran, Turkey, Jordan, and Greece.

This is what happens when churches continue to splinter into endless splintered groups - you end up with tom, dick, and harry in corner storefronts interpreting Holy Scripture.

So sadly far from home....may they someday be enlightened.

I know, but hypothetically speaking, the Palestinians might be safer with Israel in power, than being left to the mercy of their Arab brothers.

God's prophecy or man's opinion? Who to believe? The God-written, absolute truth of God's Scripture over the limited, finite "knowledge" of fallen, anti-God man with a loyalty not to God, but to some country who actively murdered millions of people. Not a Christian nation, but an atheistic one which, to this day, aligns itself with murderous Islamic homicidal maniacs and provides those Islamic maniacs with weapons with which to murder innocent people. Who to believe?

I guess I'll believe God. I'll believe the omnipotent, omnipresent God Whose hundreds of prophecies, made hundreds and thousands of years before they came to pass, Who knows past, present, and future over puny, little man who will deny the Bible and will deny what God has decreed will happen in favor of some Godless, Jew-hating nation which will attempt to invade God's land and will be slaughtered by God for their trouble.

There is no contest. As God said, "Let God be true and every man a liar".

I can see what He's talking about.

Yes because no other country has ever done such a thing.

But we're talking about Russia, the fact that God said that the time will come with a horde of Russian and Islamic armies will attempt to invade Israel, and the lame, futile denials of God's word that have been attempted on this thread.

The issue is Russia, not other nations which are not mentioned by God in Ezekiel 38 and 39.

The fact that Russia is aligning itself with the very countries that God said would participate with it in the attempted invasion of Israel is simply more validation of the inerrancy and infallibility and absolute truth of what God says.

What other nations do is irrelevant to the Ezekiel prophecy. However, what Russia does in their growing coziness and friendliness with the very nations that will march with Russia on Israel is vitally important.

Actually you were talking about the definition of a Christian nation as one that did not supply islamics with weaponry.

I couldn't care less about your personal interpretation of Scripture.

Actually you were talking about the definition of a Christian nation as one that did not supply islamics with weaponry.

Which obviously excludes Russia as being a Christian nation.

I couldn't care less about your personal interpretation of Scripture.

If my "personal interpretation of Scripture" matches the news headlines, is it still a "personal interpretation"?

I have been to Russia many many times. You know nothing about it being a Christian nation or anything else.

I am sad for your Russophobia and ignorance, even bigotry. You would do well to review how Christ instructed us to behave toward others.

I couldn't care less about Russia. Russia has murdered millions of people in it's history and is supplying weapons to mass murderers so that they can kill more thousands of people right now.

Russia will get what it has coming and they will get it soon.

And it doesn't matter what you don't believe. Do you think you're the first person in the history of the world to deny God and His Scripture? How many prophecies to you have to see fulfilled before you admit that God is right and you are wrong?

It's downright pathetic. And this entire exchange would be hilarious if the ignorance and denial of Scripture weren't so sad.

Actually pre Bolshevik revolution Christian Orthodox Russia was invaded many times. It defended itself against these invasions to preserve itself. The heroism by many Russian Christians down through the ages for example Prince Michael of Chernigov should be commemorated by all Christians in the world.

Now your sentiments about Russia probably derive from the Soviet era, which is a small part of the history of Russia. You would do yourself a favor to figure out what happened in that era - millions of Russian Christians murdered by Bolsheviks Marxist Leninists - NOT RUSSIAN Christians - and to learn more about the invasions against Russia down through the ages.

Read Solzhenitsyn too.

Take care.

And those on this thread who are denying prophetic Scripture regarding the Russian/Islamic invasion of Israel would do well to come to terms with the fact that Russian history in this circumstance is absolutely meaningless and so are their emotions. If Russia was or was not a "Christian nation" sometime in their distant past could not be more irrelevant in the face of the prophecy that God said would happen involving a Russian invasion of Israel It's as simple as that.

I see that nobody on this thread has attempted to deny Russia's CURRENT arming of Islamic mass murderers or the fact that Russia is CURRENTLY aligning itself with the very nations with whom God said it would attempt to invade Israel.

So now that we have the facts on the table: that Russia, having been a "Christian nation", somehow bred enough killers to wage a revolution from which millions of people were slaughtered, that Russia, a "Christian nation", has a government that has made the decision to arm known fanatics with weapons which Russia, the "Christian nation", knows will be used to murder innocent people, and Russia, the "Christian nation", is currently making pacts and aligning itself with the exact nations given in the Ezekiel prophecy for the Russian-Islamic invasion of Israel.

Simple facts, emotion-free.

That leaves us with one more very dangerous and unfortunate fact: that the responses on this thread are a willful, knowing, chosen denial and rejection of the Word of God.

It's as simple as that, and there is no escape from that fact.

Take care.

First - I have never seen the word of God as expressed in the New Testament make any mention of Russia (or Turkey). I wonder if it's in the Old Testament...??? NOT!

Second you talk about the Bolsheviks taking over overnight. You obviously do not know the horrors of the civil war following the First World war and Lenin's ascendancy to power in 1917. Read up girl! I can send you some resources. Try reading Solzhenitsyn.

Third regarding Russia and Iran etc. If the “alliance” were so strong Israel would not be enhancing its relationship with Russia. Even more important is the fact that the US continues to maintain its alliances with the Saudis and Turks who are really the most disturbing players in the world. Not one Iranian was involved in the attack on 9-11—Saudis lots. They also fund islamic terror centers throughout the world. Nice ally huh? BTW - who armed Hussein (and al quada) to the teeth? Sorry if the truth hurts...but our foreign policy has sucked for a long time.

So no - you have no facts really—just the same old tired worn out cold war suspicions...please act on my suggestions to study the situation a bit more. The answers are far more complicated than what “end times” pastors dream up.

First - I have never seen the word of God as expressed in the New Testament make any mention of Russia (or Turkey). I wonder if it's in the Old Testament...??? NOT!

See post 47. You'll find the results of study of the modern-day nations in the Ezekiel prophecy by people with no agenda.

If you're interested in the facts, that is.

If the “alliance” were so strong Israel would not be enhancing its relationship with Russia.

You're not trying to use your personal opinion of current, fleeting, changing, geopolitics to try to deny what God said, are you?

Even more important is the fact that the US continues to maintain its alliances with the Saudis and Turks who are really the most disturbing players in the world.

Another meaningless personal opinion that has nothing to do with the Russian-Islamic invasion of Israel.

Not one Iranian was involved in the attack on 9-11—Saudis lots.

And an attack on America in 2001 has exactly what to do with the Russian-Islamic invasion of Israel?

They also fund islamic terror centers throughout the world. Nice ally huh? BTW - who armed Hussein (and al quada) to the teeth? Sorry if the truth hurts...but our foreign policy has sucked for a long time.

And America's foreign policy has exactly what to do with the Russian-Islamic invasion of Israel?

Is any of that supposed mean something? Because it has absolutely nothing to do with the thread topic.

The rest of your post is nothing more than the same denials and ridicule of what God said that this entire thread is made up of.

The Scripture on this has been given repeatedly and has been repeatedly denied. That's not my problem of course; I'm not the one who has to face God having called Him a liar.

But, God said this would happen:

Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, 4and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.” (2 Peter 3:3-4)

This entire thread is a fulfillment of Bible prophecy.

So no - you have no facts really—just the same old tired worn out cold war suspicions...

At least you had the brains not to try to deny the fact that Russia is helping Islamic homicidal maniacs kill innocent people and the fact that Russia is aligning with the nations God said they would align with.

Russian history and the cold war? I couldn't care less.

Foolish stuff...you need to read the Bible and stop relying on post like 47.

Best of luck.

I've been reading the Bible since I was a child. You need to face reality and stop denying Scripture.

And I don't need luck. I have God.

Again there is nothing in the scriptures about the fantasies you have created. To presume to know the mind of the Lord smacks of hubris.

Again, you are presented with the Scriptures regarding the Russian invasion of Israel, the historical location of the Biblical word "Rosh", along with the other names listed in Exekiel who will participate in the Russian/Islamic invasion of Israel, and you choose to reject the Scripture and the information you have been given.

Fantasies? What could I possibly gain from "fantasizing" about the players that God said would invade Israel? That doesn't even make sense. At least try to be a little sensible about this.

To presume to know the mind of the Lord smacks of hubris.

"Presume to know the mind of the Lord"? Now you're going to deny that God wrote the Bible when He said He did write it? Are you serious? Hubris???? Look in the mirror!!

the Russian invasion of Israel

Silly claptrap. And you know it. If anything it was the other way around. Secular atheistic Jews heavily invested in Marxism and the Marxist international revolutionary movement who destroyed a Christian nation in 1917.

What about the fact that historical events are irrelevant to the future event of the Ezekiel prophecy do yo not understand? Why is that so hard for you to grasp? What about the word "meaningless" do you not understand?

Tell me, is the book of Ezekiel the only Scripture you claim is fables, fairy tales, and myths, and not God's word like He says it is? What other lies do you believe God has told?

I'd hate to be in your shoes on the day you have to stand before Him.
