That guy just died too. One of the last of the Munchkins.
I loved Different Strokes when I was little, and He was in a movie with Maureen Stapleton. It was a great movie and he showed he could act... I loved him in that movie.. 1981 so I was ten. Anyhow god bless you Gary.
Yes it is. To many of us kids of the 80s it is breaking news... Most of us like that show... It was also a possitive portrayal of African Americans...
If memory serves me right, I believe this resulted in laws and policies being enacted to protect child stars from having their fortunes squandered away by their parents.
RIP. He was a good kid.
:)
Rest in peace, Gary. You are home now.
That doesn’t sound like fun, at any rate! I spent a couple of nights in the hospital recently (altho no cutting open, thankfully). No fun at all and the food was terrible. I’m glad you are home and sound as if you are whole and doing well. I am in awe of our American medical system, however, the human body (and I believe with a little help from the guy who put it all together to begin with) can sometimes fix itself in amazing ways. But it is often a frightening process.
I do know that when I die, I want to die from a seizure or stroke, but quickly, as you don’t know what hit you.
Not really so odd, this just brought it to mind.

He was so cute back in the day when he was a little kid.
I’m sure it’s hard when you have played a character as recognizable as the one he played and people can be pretty stupid in inserting themselves into your private life.
So sad. May he rest in peace.
Spare me your sanctimonious crap. My heart goes out to the family and friends of the so far anonymous American soldier killed today in Afghanistan. He should mean more to FReepers than some entertainment kid, I think. But that's just me.

In the interviews I saw with Gary Coleman over the years, he always seemed bitter... it’s so sad he had such a troubled life.

RIP
Indeed. The afro with the part in it was so funny to me.
It’s not yours to decide what means what to other people (talk about sanctimonious). Praying for other people is always good for your soul. I have found praying for people who have done evil to me has brought me comfort and peace. Sounds crazy, but it does. Of course, it doesn’t work if you can’t get your heart in the right place.
I will say a prayer for you, and I would also suggest that you stay away from threads about things that mean nothing to you and make you angry. That’s not good for your blood pressure.
You go pray for the Islamic Swine then. Have a good time. I wish them death. Check out Psalm 92, o religious one. We call it a Psalm for the Sabbath Day.

I liked him best in "I Spy", with Bill Cosby as co-star. It was a really good series.
Very sad. RIP Gary. You lived such a short life.
