Arizona's new crackdown on illegal immigration will increase crime in U.S. cities, not reduce it, by driving a wedge between police and immigrant communities, police chiefs from several of the state's and the nation's largest cities said Tuesday.
The new Arizona law will intimidate crime victims and witnesses who are illegal immigrants and divert police from investigating more serious crimes, chiefs from Los Angeles, Houston and Philadelphia said. They will join their counterparts from Montgomery County, Md., and a half-dozen other U.S. cities in meeting Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. on Wednesday morning to discuss the measure.

"Arizona's new crackdown on illegal immigration will increase crime in U.S. cities."
Yea, right, I guess Phoenix will shoot up to number one in kidnapping in the U.S. now from number one (previous year). Arizonians are caught in a Tsunami of crime RIGHT NOW and something has to be done on the boarder to stop it.

Actually those police chiefs are correct.
Crime will go up in their cities as the Criminal Invaders leave AZ for places where they are welcome to do their crimes.

It’s going to boost crime in THEIR cities because all the illegal alien criminals in Arizona will be moving there!

I really believe this is our biggest problem right now, by far. I know it’s a tradeoff, but I would send troops to the border tomorrow, tens of thousands of them, and start building walls. For the record, I DO blame GWBush for this, and even Clinton before him. The writing was on the wall then too.
“They’ll take the jobs nobody else wants.” Stupid fool.

Police chiefs are political appointments, and I'd be willing to bet every one of them was appointed by a Democrat. Good point. Excellent tagline!

I don't know if you heard what the APD chief Art Acevedo said on KLBJ a few days after the AZ bill passed, but he is also against the bill. He is afraid his PD will have to do their job.

Oh...so those "police chiefs" are afraid that they might have to start actually enforcing the Federal immigration laws, say...like Arizona?
This news story is the biggest line of liberal BS I've ever heard in my life.
The other cities are NOT the responsibility or the worry of Arizona...and if they had the immigrants problems that Arizona has, they'd be climbing on the bandwagon too.
Comedian George Carlin once said, "If you ain't on the expressway, you ain't $#!+. These other cities haven't even gotten to the on-ramp yet.

aLook at the cities cited — LA, Philadelphia, Houston. All inner city chief runs by leftists, probably minorities, sympathetic to Obama.
Your average county sheriff would never shirk from doing his duty just because it made the criminals angry or scared.
