Cites voter frustration.

<Associated Press
Senate candidate Rand Paul, Kentucky Republican, arrives at his campaign headquarters in Bowling Green, Ky., on Wednesday, the day after winning his party's nomination.

America, House Republicans want your help.

In an effort to shed its image as a "party of no" with few original ideas to challenge the Democrat-controlled Congress and White House, House Republicans on Tuesday will begin a campaign to ask the general public for input in drafting their next agenda.

The nationwide "America Speaking Out" campaign seeks to capitalize on growing voter frustration of the Obama administration and the Democratic Congress. Organizers say they welcome ideas from all voters, regardless of party affiliation.

"American Speaking Out is an effort to open the back rooms and closed doors that have defined Congress and allow Americans to be a part of drafting a governing agenda from the start," the outline says.

"Congressional Republicans have offered positive alternatives to the misguided policies pursued by Washington Democrats. But we recognize the American people are in charge, and constructing a governing agenda must begin with the people."

The campaign will solicit public input via an online forum at www.AmericaSpeakingOut.com,and town hall meetings, according to an outline obtained from a senior House Republican aide.

"We expect it will generate a great deal of interest, a great deal of participation around the country," said House Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence of Indiana. Mr. Pence, a project organizer, declined to discuss details until the campaign is officially unveiled at the Newseum in Washington.

The campaign's mission to tap into the "growing disconnect between the priorities of the American public and the agenda that is debated in Washington" echoes the grass-roots "tea party" movement

-- If the GOP has to ask what they should be doing then they are beyond hope. --

This is only a form of "listening tour." The party will continue to do what is in the party's self-interest, which, as far as I can tell, isn't necessarily to be "in power." Rather, the party exists to give its members elite status, and "not winning" (a majority of Congress) relieves the members of the burden of accountability.

"Which way did my people go? I have to get ahead of them so I can lead them!"

In my district we started out with what appeared to be two great candidates till one was enticed into snuggling up to the liberal main street republicans.

The last main street republican we had in our district (Joe Schawrz) was defeated by a conservative so he turned around and ran a write in campaign against him. In 08 Schawrz endorsed the marxist democrat and this year is looking at running in the governor’s race as an independent.

These liberal republicans have the attitude that if they can’t have their way, they’ll make sure to destroy the conservatives on the way out.

I'm just brainstorming here, but start by reading the Republican Party Platform and the Constitution, not necessarily in that order.

They might promise that before one new idea gets a review, everything passed since Obama was sworn in will be repealed. If they don't have enough votes to defeat a veto, it will be two light years legislatively. They should say that positively so they aren't accused of being the Party of No.

They are looking for some kind of cover to support a more “progressive” agenda... again.

These people are total frauds and should be FORCED from the party by large men wielding baseball bats and large caliber weapons.

They need to STOP OPENING up the primaries for the DEMS to cross over and give us WEAK Candidates. We have begged the GOP to close off the primaries so only registered REPUBLICANS could vote for REPUBLICANS in the primaries. THIS is how we ended up with McCain.

The tea partiers are quiet for now so they figure they don’t need to play nice anymore.

Talk about flailing. I wonder how much money they’ve poured into their “rebranding” effort thus far.

They started with the “National Council for a New America” which didn’t last long.

Determined to continue on their populist track they’ve launched the youvote thing and now this.

I guess LEADERSHIP is too much to ask for.

In an effort to shed its image as a "party of no"

WHAT THE HELL'S WRONG WITH "THE PARTY OF NO"?

with few original ideas to challenge the Democrat-controlled Congress and White House

The only original ideas you bastards need are "the original ideas".

IDEA #1: RESURRECT THE BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENT!!!!!!!!

Idea #2: Put a cap on the percent of National budget/tax receipts which can be spent on non-military Federal Employees.

Damn, Reagan must be spinning in his grave. Whatever happened to a positive, optimistic vision for America’s future, and setting the milestones down to get there?

As a couple of you have previously said, if at this late date the GOP is reaching out to the public for ideas, then it’s beyond hope.

Hannity has exhaustively tried to get Steele and Co. to listen and adopt his Blueprint for Victory, which is a Reagan Conservative set of ideas. Why the HELL don’t they start there???????????

I think they're starting to get the message. We just have to keep reinforcing it.

But enough of this 'Rat lite. I don't want "positive alternatives," I want them the h3ll out of my life!

They don't seem to get that when RR said, "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help," it was NOT A GOOD THING!!!
