2 suspended in case of laxative-laced cupcakes

Two Dutch Fork High School students have been suspended after 14 students and one teacher became sick after eating cupcakes made with laxatives.

The students brought the treats to school Monday.

School officials called the sheriff’s department to investigate after some became concerned the treats were made with an illegal substance. The sheriff’s department tested the cupcakes and found they included a natural fiber laxative, said Monique Mack, a spokesman for the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. No criminal charges were filed.

Now we had put nothing into the shake but the power of suggestion kicked in and he spent most of the rest of the shift running to the restroom and cursing us.

In high school, we had students who paid a part of their tuition by working behind the lunch counter, under the supervision of the adult kitchen staff. One time, one of them dumped a bottle of chocolate-flavored Haley's M-O (for "Mineral Oil"?) into the chocolate soft-serve ice cream machine.

It didn't take the staff long to figure out what was causing the mad rush to the restroom, but by then the culprit had disposed of the evidence and denied all. I think that batch of ice cream was all gone anyway, replaced by another untainted supply. Much later, the guy 'fessed-up to one of his buddies and word got around. I thought it was funny as could be, but then I didn't eat any ice cream that day.

I tried to mkae a meat loaf but had no ‘filler’ handy, so I used ‘All Bran’. Thing cooked into a hockey puck!

This is why I've always been a mite leery about using A-B as a laxative, hehe.

Meatloaf for supper!

I'm there!!!

My dad had a problem with someone always bumming cigarettes, so he threaded a hair through one of them, and gave it to said scrounge, who never again bummed a cigarette from my dad.

I live alone with two old cats, so this is a recipe for one, but yields three to four meals:

1 pound lean ground turkey (dark and white meat)
1+1/2 cups of stove top stuffing, turkey flavored, crumbled to almost a powder
1 whole green pepper, diced (I've used pablono once, never again)
1 large sweet onion
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon of Dale's steak sauce
1/3 cup of fresh chopped celery with the tops (when in season, you can substitute dandelion greens for a special flavor)
1 can green peppers and stewed tomatoes, drained well, half in mix, half on top for baking, add one generous tablespoon of Hunt's ketchup to the part spread on top for baking

Mix the ingredients in a large mixing bowl, by hand (I keep disposable latex gloves for kitchen use), and add 1/2 cup of egg substitute as the mix comes together
Bake in a bread loaf pan and allow to cool in the pan for ten to fifteen minutes before cutting in slabs 1 inch or more thick. Makes wonderful meatloaf 'sandwiches': in a flour tortilla, add chopped mint leaf, fresh spinach leaves sliced in ribbons, feta and Monterey Jack cheese, all rolled up and a toothpick to hold the roll while baking, heated in a 350 degree oven for ten minutes. Mm Mmm Good! or as Alton would say, Good Eats!

Meant to ping you ... your hubby will love this meatloaf. I’m making it for me and my older millionaire cousin who is in town on business for a few days, staying with me ‘cause he’s so cheap!

Bake the meatloaf in a 350 degree oven for one hour, with tinfoil cover for the first fifty minutes, uncovered the last ten minutes.
