[history]
The decision, announced in a statement released by the U.S. State Department, overturns the position of former President George W. Bush's administration, which had opposed such a treaty on the grounds that national controls were better.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the United States would support the talks as long as the negotiating forum, the so-called Conference on the Arms Trade Treaty, "operates under the rules of consensus decision-making."

Not only not now. Not EVER. Not incidentally, whether Hillary and the W-I-C personally want it, the Senate must ratify any treaty for it to be valid.
To: Fight4Freedom1
His signature isn't enough. It has to be ratified AND it can not be unconstitutional. Since it violates the 2nd Amendment, the treaty has no validity. The commie traitor just keeps launching zingers.

This is an old article. I haven’t heard about it much since this came out, though.
If there’s any chance that we sign on to this treaty, I think we will be closer to another civil war in this country.

If this passes, these assh0les will think they tipped over a beehive. Any fooling around with gun rights in America is political suicide, no matter what the party/issue.

Not only does a treaty require a two-thirds senate majority vote but treaties that contradict the U.S. constitution can be voided. Congress always has the power to modify or repeal treaties by subsequent legislative action. Besides, this deal is in the 'talking stages' and will likely come to nothing as the U.S. is demanding a 'consensus' agreement that could give any one nation veto power. Still, it is yet another indication of the dictatorial road the Obama administration is on.
November 2nd can't come soon enough!

For the US to be bound by any treaty, a 2/3 Majority vote by the Senate must approve the treaty. That means 67 votes in favor.
DOES ANYONE THINK THE SENATE IS STUPID ENOUGH TO VOTE OUT THE 2ND AMENDMENT? 67 Votes. Political suicide.
And CW2.
Hillary can banter around the World all she wants and sign anything to please MSM consumers.

Can you share the reason you chose to post an article that’s seven months old? In political terms that’s a lifetime.

There's nothing to fear yet until the conference happens and we see the details of the potential agreement.
However, we DO need to keep an eye on developments and elect good senators as a safeguard until Bacrock the Bitch is fired in 2012.
