My doc recommended the “CAVEMAN” diet for me....people who have diabetes in their family tree can really benefit....I’m never hungry anymore (always was before)....and have slimmed down a bit more. My cholesterol numbers are better than ever including one I was told I could NOT change because it was hereditary (small, dense, non-bouyant LDL)....I eat meat a lot....have a niece who is fatter than a hog who is a vegetarian....probably because she NEEDS MEAT!

Well, if the SHTF, I know how to fish and hunt, and grow veggies and other edible plants. Thankfully my grandfather taught me.

It was both a Catholic thing and it was a war effort thing during WWII.

World War II was meatless Tuesdays. Meatless Fridays were strictly the Catholic thing.

Same here. Those soccer moms at Panera would be in a world of hurt. “This arugula shows signs of wilting”!

Tongue was firmly planted in cheek, next to big bite of steak...lol! I understood the reference.

I am a Florida cracker, transplanted to SW Missouri (cattle country). I exist on meat and fish. Sometimes I cook meat in meat. I take 10 hours to B-B-Q a pork shoulder for dinner. Anyone who plans on changing that better be well armed and even more determined.

Have you heard about the new FREGAN movement.

They only eat vegan food that other people throw away ie. dumpster diving for vegan food “to save the Planet”.

40 years ago, the greenies would have been locked up in asylums - today, they run the media and get elected to the Senate.

Louis Jordan wouldn't see eye to eye with Paul McCartney. Reconversion Blues, a paean to free enterprise, celebrates the return of steak, bacon, butter, and whipped cream to supermarket shelves following WWII, and the singer comments, "no more fish on Tuesdays, I've got plenty meat in my stew."

I have a friend who was vegetarian. She started eating meat and lost weight.

I can tell how much I care about this gent’s commentary by how much I know about him.
Never heard of him before.

You've never heard of Paul McCartney? You haven't missed much.

When I was a kid we cooked meat on Sunday, then on Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs we had the left over meat made into various cassaroles. By Friday we were out of meat and my mom would always act very pious and say we shouldn’t eat meat on Friday. I was almost 10 before I figured out “wait a second, we’re not Catholic” LOL

How many leather jackets you think the staff has in their closets? Hope none of those pilgrims get sick. Most FDA approved drugs started with some sort of testing on animals first.

He probably should have instituted ‘Witless Wednesdays’ instead. They can give away CFL bulbs to the masses, whereupon they all throw them up in the air so that they can break on the street, causing a big mercury mess in broad daylight.

We should feed vegetarians to the lions and save the poor cows.

Yeah, Friday. It might remind someone that in the day we never worshiped animals.

You think that people would have had enough of Paul McCartney
But I look around me and I see it isn't so
Some people want to rid the world of Paul McCartney
And what's wrong with that
I'd like to know
