Israel Denies US Academic Chomsky West Bank Entry
Israel says the denial may be a misunderstanding. Renowned US scholar Noam Chomsky has been denied entry to the West Bank by Israeli immigration officials. Prof Chomsky, renowned for his work on linguistics and philosophy, was planning to deliver a lecture at Birzeit University. Prof Chomsky, 82, had been trying to enter from Jordan.
An Israeli interior ministry spokeswoman said it was to trying to clear the matter up and allow Prof Chomsky to enter. Prof Chomsky said the officials were very polite but he was denied entry because "the government did not like the kinds of things I say and they did not like that I was only talking at Birzeit and not at an Israeli university too." He added: "I asked them if they could find any government in the world that likes the things I say."
Prof Chomsky's Palestinian host for the visit, Mustafa al-Barghouti, told Reuters: "This decision is a fascist action, amounting to suppression of freedom of expression."

They should have let him in and then shot him as a spy.
RE: calling Israel “fascist” for not permitting an anti-semite into Israel. Ha...the reaction of a typical liberal...if they don’t get their way they act like spoiled 4 year old.
Renowned US scholar = Whacked out conspiracy kook
Oh, please. There's one just off the coast of Florida that thinks you're peachy.
Chomsky thinks everybody’s a fascist who doesn’t agree with him. They worship him here in MA. He’s an idiot linguist. Nothing more.
I disagree. Anyone who has a stranglehold on the operational philosophy of the dominant political party in the US is not a conspiracy kook but someone to be taken very seriously.
Libtards from Pearl Jam to Pandora agree.
Oh my!
This is a very damming statement coming from a Palestinian!
Everyone knows how the Palestinians honor the freedom of expression. They are very respectful of the freedom of Religious Expression in particular.
Chomsky is “must reading” at every university in America. He is a faux smart useful idiot.
Chomsky is a creep. His linguistic work IS renowned, but frankly I think more because it is fashionable than that it is really all that good. Just my opinion.
Also, he’s one of those guys who wrote a few significant books in his early years, and then has coasted ever since, turning out book after book about left wing politics. He’s basically a leftist, Palestinian supporting anti-semite, and that’s mostly all he has done for the past thirty or forty years.
As you can see from a list of his books on Amazon, most of his books attack America, the West, and hegemonic colonialism, while plugging the left and the post-colonial states, especially the Palestinians:
His two books on language, republished together, are his only really scholarly works. They were first published in the middle 1970s. And, as I have suggested, I think they are fashionable postmodernist nonsense, but plenty of postmodernists in the academy would doubtless say otherwise.
Chomsky thinks capitalism is a subversive act committed by companies who force people to buy their products.
Look who is calling somebody else a fascist. Mr. Fascism himself. Geeez. I’ll never get used to this ObamaNation psychobabble.
Sometimes it looks like the famous linguist only knows one word.

The Chomskybot is a demonstration of a peculiarly primitive variety of computational linguistics. Once you've seen how it works -- if you care, and if you don't recognize quickly how it's done -- you're not likely to be interested in the boring details, but there are explanations of how it works in the links provided just in case you are. The operation, though, can be quite amusing, even delightful, once you "get it." The output it delivers just hovers on the edge of understandability, teasing you with a sort of semantic mumbling, the most interesting effects being in the mind of the beholder. Its output often induces a strong feeling of inferiority in the unsuspecting, a sense of "I just don't get it, so I must be dumber than I'd thought." which, of course, is precisely what posturing intellectuals, as well as your other, more common street-corner grifters and con artists, want you to feel.
