So asks Slate, which quotes statistics that suggest that more women than men are involved in the Tea Party movement, and points to the fact that most national and state coordinators are women:
If the Tea Party has any legitimate national leadership, it is dominated by women. Of the eight board members of the Tea Party Patriots who serve as national coordinators for the movement, six are women. Fifteen of the 25 state coordinators are women. One of the three main sponsors of the Tax Day Tea Party that launched the movement is a group called Smart Girl Politics. The site started out as a mommy blog and has turned into a mobilizing campaign that trains future activists and candidates. Despite its explosive growth over the last year, it is still operated like a feminist cooperative, with three stay-at-home moms taking turns raising babies and answering e-mails and phone calls. Spokeswoman Rebecca Wales describes it as a group made up of a lot of mama bears worried about their families. The Tea Party, she says, is a natural home for women because for a long time people have seen the parties as good-ole-boy, male-run institutions. In the Tea Party, women have finally found their voice.
Well, if this is all true I suppose that explains why I havent found the Tea Party all that appealing or even interesting for that matter. However, perhaps we should take note, because this is a truly strange trend. Now that we have a party that has been firmly in favor of feminist goals for nearly 40 years in power, all of the sudden a number of women are up in arms.

I like Tea Parties, haven’t gone to one (live waaaay out in the boondocks, would go if I were closer to one, and want gov’t spending cut by at least 50% for a start. All social programs cut 100%. Minimum.
And I’m a she.
Well, one of the great pleasures of doing Tea Party protests has always been the plethora of foxy conservative gals protesting.
I might add that the Republican parties two greatest leaders at this time are women. Sarah Palin and Michele Bachman show great courage, commitment to liberty, and just plain bring beauty to our cause. I would follow either one to the gates of hell.
We would do well to appreciate the courage and commitment of our wonderful lady Tea Party Patriots!
1. Protect the Constitution Require each bill to identify the specific provision of the Constitution that gives Congress the power to do what the bill does.
2. Reject Cap & Trade Stop costly new regulations that would increase unemployment, raise consumer prices, and weaken the nations global competitiveness with virtually no impact on global temperatures.
3. Demand a Balanced Budget Begin the Constitutional amendment process to require a balanced budget with a two-thirds majority needed for any tax hike.
4. Enact Fundamental Tax Reform Adopt a simple and fair single-rate tax system by scrapping the internal revenue code and replacing it with one that is no longer than 4,543 wordsthe length of the original Constitution.
5. Restore Fiscal Responsibility & Constitutionally Limited Government in Washington Create a Blue Ribbon taskforce that engages in a complete audit of federal agencies and programs, assessing their Constitutionality, and identifying duplication, waste, ineffectiveness, and agencies and programs better left for the states or local authorities, or ripe for wholesale reform or elimination due to our efforts to restore limited government consistent with the US Constitutions meaning.
6. End Runaway Government Spending Impose a statutory cap limiting the annual growth in total federal spending to the sum of the inflation rate plus the percentage of population growth.
7. Defund, Repeal, & Replace Government-run Health Care Defund, repeal and replace the recently passed government-run health care with a system that actually makes health care and insurance more affordable by enabling a competitive, open, and transparent free-market health care and health insurance system that isnt restricted by state boundaries.
8. Pass an All-of-the-Above Energy Policy Authorize the exploration of proven energy reserves to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources from unstable countries and reduce regulatory barriers to all other forms of energy creation, lowering prices and creating competition and jobs.
9. Stop the Pork Place a moratorium on all earmarks until the budget is balanced, and then require a 2/3 majority to pass any earmark.
10. Stop the Tax Hikes Permanently repeal all tax hikes, including those to the income, capital gains, and death taxes, currently scheduled to begin in 2011.
Are you looking for something more specific? As I see it, if it isn't constitutional - it isn't funded - or are you looking for specific "we're taking away specific programs" type verbiage?
The tea party isn’t about your sex.

Hillary hosts women Senators
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has revived a tradition from her Senate days, hosting a bipartisan dinner with most of the upper chambers' 17 women members. (snip)

Btt
Feminism is supposed to be about female choice (of course it isnt, but it claims to be). Women dont have a choice as long as taxes are high. They have to be in the workforce, even if they would rather stay home with their children.
It makes sense to me that the Tea Party is attracting women who are fed up with this situation.
The Tea Party mirrors Free Republic.
Middle aged women have more free time and they are easily riled*
*and we know why
if u don’t believe me just wait..
OKKKK what are you saying? Easily riled? You wanna get flamed: LOL ;)
