"There's a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately." There is also a long history of them being convicted for crimes they did commit and going to jail for it.

Proud of my son....He just did a research paper/speech in his 9th grade class on profiling and he was for it. Hard to find supporting sources though, and he needed about a dozen or so........

The odd thing is that the more the democrats (Liberals, communists, morons, etc the terms are interchangeable) scream against profiling, the more I do it.
I tried very hard for most of life to not be racist. Now I find I have no choice. Since society at large will not restrain or reform the bad elements I have to assume that people similar to those who are known to be bad are also bad. Until of course they individually prove otherwise.
Very similar to affirmative action. The first thought upon seeing a non-asian minority in any "educated" position is that they are an affirmative action case. Until they prove that they honestly earned that position.
If the democrats (etc) had just let society advance as it was progressing, we'd not have near the racial problems we have today

When we weigh racial and gender stereotypes for what we deem are noble purposes, we call it "diversity," but when considering criteria other than one's individuality for matters of public safety, it devolves into "profiling"? That's the money quote.
