Former first lady Laura Bush has broken with her husband on the premier social issues of his administration and said she backs gay marriage and abortion.
After more than eight years of silence on the controversial issues, Mrs. Bush said in an interview with CNN's Larry KingTuesday, that gay marriage and abortion were points of contention with her husband, former President George W. Bush.
Mrs. Bush in recent weeks has been promoting her memoir "Spoken from the Heart," in which she writes about her life both before and after becoming first lady.
In response to a question about gay marriage, she said, "There are a lot of people who have trouble coming to terms with that because they see marriage as traditionally between a man and a woman. But I also know that, you know, when couples are committed to each other and love each other, that they ought to have, I think, the same sort of rights that everyone has."
Mrs. Bush said she and the ex-president "disagree" on legalizing same-sex marriage.

We have no way of knowing but she's been out there and yes, like it or not, has been a role model for all that's decent and good and honorable. You don't think her work in third world countries had any affect what-so-ever on young women in this nation?
I remember seeing an interview on Oprah Winfrey whose guest was Condelezza Rice and one young woman from the audience could hardly contain her emotions while meeting Ms. Rice...actually sobbing so hard that she could barely speak. You don't believe there are others out there that feel the same way about Laura Bush?
Our young women have very few, true and honarable women to look up to as a role model. Unless you wish to count Lady Gaga, Madonna, Whoopie, Barbara Walters, Hillary Clinton etc.
Now it comes to light that Laura Bush is no better than those baby butchers and advocates of depravity. If you don't think our lives do not touch others than you may be too sheltered. And even if it was only one young woman, one is too many. So my question to you is: How do you know that a woman didn't or hasn't looked at Laura Bush as a role model and may very well base her decision to kill her baby based on this information?

I think it's part of the general "tolerance is god" movement in our society that affects a lot of people. They know it's wrong, but they don't want to be "judgemental."
It's dead wrong thinking, but it's really, really common. And sad.

I’m disgusted, I just posted that several times earlier in the thread conversing with Ohiowfan.
But, as I said, if you continue to break your own part of the "agreement" as you have done so often in the past (and right here on this thread), I will report you, as I have said.
I don't have time to waste following you around and checking to see if you begin behaving honorably, but if I should see your posts and they violate ethical standards (as you have done), then I won't let it go by.
Because I always tell the truth. I'm not always right, and I obviously make mistakes and lose control on occasion (when I am not depending on the Lord for strength), but I'm always, always HONEST.
And you really can't take that away from me no matter how desperately you try, nor how many times you call me names and curse me.
(Perhaps sometime I'll find out why Favor Center chose you alone to ping to come to his aid in attacking me, and not others......)
