Irvine business relocation specialist Joseph Vranich has added another 12 companies to his growing list of companies that are moving part or all of their operations out of California.

I first noted the list when it had 100 companies. It’s now up to 129 names.

“It’s no mystery what causes companies to leave California: high taxes, undue regulation, workers’ comp costs, a legal environment stacked against businesses, and lengthy and costly construction permitting requirements,” Vranich says

Only part of CS is conservative. It’s sinking as well.

But the Springs is conservative by most people’s standards. Oklahoma passed open carry with a veto proof majority, The Springs isn’t like that, but more conservative than Denver, that’s for sure.

“back hills” Kentucky economy was self sustaining and well balanced before Uncle Sam decided to “help” Appalachia.

Fires, mudslides, earthquakes...

But we haven't had a hurricane in 71 years--the last one was barely a category 1--and we rarely get tornados.

The CA legislature can’t do that. But Congress can.

Schwarzenegger made a crack about now wanting to make a commencement speech in Arizona because, with his accent, he might be deported back to Austria. Do you suppose he could use his accent to explain why businesses are leaving California.

I can understand that. I’ve lived in the country, so I understand your take on it.

I wouldn’t know the inner workings, but that doesn’t surprise me much.

There are conservatives moving to Colorado too :) (And I didn’t get the soothing Colorado Springs option. I’m up here in Boulder County. I thought living in PG County Maryland was hard...)

Boulder is pretty goofy but I used to work there and many of the people I worked with, though liberal morons, aren’t as bad as some of the stories I here out of Berkley.

I’m sure it’s prettier than Maryland though.

High taxes, undue regulation, workers’ comp costs, a legal environment stacked against businesses.
It all sounds just like what Obama&Co.wants to do the nation.

I see your point, but I wouldn’t be so quick to condemn lawyers (even though I DO think there is a plague of them, and I enjoy lawyer jokes as much as anyone...) But I do know, going into court without knowledgable legal representation is like putting your head on the chopping block.

I am much more ambivalent about teachers, since it seems that there is much more indoctrination going on than teaching in many places. I don’t want to paint them with a broad brush, but we are spending a huge amount on public education, and it isn’t enough (ever) to them. I fault teacher’s unions to a large degree, and liberal legislators at all levels who always think that throwing more money at the problems in education will fix them.

Bureaucrats are also necessary, but I am willing to bet we could cut the entire federal and state governement workforce by 75-85%, and most of us would not know the difference except at the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

Well yes, and more open, cheaper cost of living, etc. Schools are better than PG county and even Farfax County VA.

We’re a Navy town, we have people from everywhere. I would rather they be here, than elsewhere. Might bring the wages up and the unemployment down.

Sadly Arnold has never read the legislation.

Not a surprise really, he rarely reads what he signs in his own state...

Of course I agree that each of these professions is a necessary component of a functioning society like our’s. But they are being twisted to ends for which they were never intended.

When I sold my house in Aurora Illinois to move out of state, I had to pay a $1000 fine to the city. Not kidding.

I really, really hate to write this and it’s just MHO, but if you want to see the future of California, look at Detroit today.

Not only is liberalism a mental disease, it causes widespread destruction.

C’mon November!
