Game changing I guess as long as the laser can be used effectively but they have limitations. How is this more effective than a simple grenade launcher?

Too bad they’ll NEVER get authorization to actually use these in combat. You can’t shoot into a dwelling! There could be Afghani Girl Scouts in there!

Can this shoot the same rounds as the Bradley?
To: Berlin_Freeper
A grenade launcher, or a bazooka round is just as effective and a LOT LESS MONEY!

This thread has just added to the
FreeRepublic "bang list" (firearms interest list) by adding the keyword "banglist".
Any time a firearms-related thread is created on FreeRepublic, please be sure to add the "banglist" keyword to it so that interested FReepers don't miss it. Just a suggestion.

I understand the ACLU has already filed a suit to prohibit our Army from using it. "Too lethal," or some such nonsense. Like what they did in outlawing the very effective Active Denial System, which uses microwaves to make the enemy feel like they are on fire with no physical damage at all.

I like the bullpup design. Should be quite devastating in urban combat.

Now if Obama will just let our war fighters use these guns, we’d be making progress much faster.

Twenty for so pounds of gun and fairly simple to defeat if in a prepared positon. Probably not a lot of advantage in close or long range mobile engagements.

Whoa. . .”Game Changing” weapon, as commonly referenced within the MAJOCOMs and Pentagon, is usually and most always associated with laser (Directed Energy) weapons.
Darn, imagine my disappointment that the game changing weapon isn't a Star Trek phaser. . . .

Obama will surely find a way to stall the use or procurement funding, with his Arab bloodline and loyalties it would be an unfair advantage for westerners.
All the right reasons why POTUS must be a Natural Born Citizen of EXACTLY what the Constitution requires for an elected President.
I remember the documentary of how they calculate the range fuzing, its all about how many revolutions and the microprocessor that signals the fuzing.
It won’t be long before we have guided bullets like in the Tom Selleck movie.
