Palin angers faithful with choice in California race

Sarah Palin has angered fans by endorsing former Hewlett Packard chief Carly Fiorina instead of a more conservative challenger in her bid to become the Republican candidate aiming to unseat California Senator Barbara Boxer.

Palin, a darling of the right-wing, announced on her Facebook page on Thursday that she was backing Fiorina as she attempts to win the Republican ticket for the election in California later this year.

The 2008 Republican vice-presidential candidate said she was supporting Fiorina as a "Commonsense Conservative" on the basis of her "fiscal conservatism rooted in real life experience."

"We can trust Carly to do the right thing for America?s economy and to make the principled decisions she has throughout her professional career," Palin wrote in her endorsement.

However Palin's support has enraged supporters of California Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, who view Fiorina as a RINO -- Republican In Name Only -- an epithet used by right-wingers to disparage pro-business candidates who do not always embrace socially conservative stances.

"Sorry, governor Palin, but Chuck DeVore is California's only conservative candidate for senator," one poster wrote.

"I'm very disappointed in you, Sarah. You should know better!!," another posted added.

people have heard her say she is pro life,

Really? When did she say it? To what group? I looked for a quote from she herself and found none. Can you post them? Pro-life doesn't go with her global socialist reputation, so I'm skeptical.

GunnyPop & Hunter are endorsing Carly? That is an egregious LIE.

I want to hear more about your dinner last night with the San Diego Republicans!

What did Roger Hedgecock and Darrell Issa have to say?

I don't have a problem with supporting the strongest candidate. That's probably Fiorina. I believe that the "RINO" term is way overused. And "losing with honor" is unrealistic.

I do find the split between Palin's ardent supporters to be interesting, though. One group is highly disappointed in her. In fact some of them are ready to throw her under the bus. Another group hates "RINOs" but feels that, "Hey! If Sarah says it's good, it's good!"

This is too silly for words, I sure found the quotes, but I am more fascinated at the lengths you will go to in your game playing.

The endorsements, Chuck Devore’s statements him self acknowledging her pro-life statements, and you just keep slip sliding along, demanding more and more.

Seriously, do you think that none of these people have ever heard her address abortion?

I haven't seen that split, most every name that I have seen attacking her are the same old names.

Something that many of her attackers have done for months, as you well know, is to always play that "concern troll" act of, THIS time she has gone too far, or THIS time she has whatever, as though in THIS thread, today, I have to turn on her.

Almost every time I look at their posting history, I see the same old, same old, being trotted out.

Is there a split within “her ardent” supporters? That assertion would seem to fall flat on its face. “Ardent supporters” are often described here in unflattering terms, such as “Sarah worshippers” and the like, which for the better part is just silly.

Oh, I’ve seen some vanites that I would call ‘worship-like’ but vanities only speak for the poster and those who agree with the posting.

Everyone has an opinion about Sarah, whether they support or not, and it’s pretty easy to tell who supports her from those who don’t and who never have, but claim they have up until...whenever.

I support Sarah, but I don’t expect everyone here to support her and in fact, I don’t want everyone here to support her. Conservative Republican politics is all about good competition.

I take umbrage only when she is gratititously and hatefully attacked repeatedly by those who seek to bring her down for reasons and purposes of their own, which is almost always in the attempt to promote their third party candidate.

Sarah has earned her voice on the national stage and she can endorse and support candidates of her choice and we are free to vote for whomever we please.

I applaud Sarah Palin for all of her hard work on behalf of our Conservative cause.

GO SARAH!

A few who have been taken in by those who have been fooled by Devore will understand and move along.

I also understand some males don’t like strong women and use made up excuses for not supporting strong women candidates.

All or nothing will always get you the liberal Democrat. This time, Boxer.

Carly Fiorina has been endorsed by the National Right to Life, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List. She is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-military, and pro-strict border security and against amnesty.

She is against Obamacare and will vote to repeal it and prevent the government takeover of private companies and industries. Carly is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment.

She is a member of the NRA, has a 100% NRA rating, and she and her husband are gun owners. She is pro-energy development and believes as I do in an all-of-the-above approach to energy independence.

She is against cap and tax. And most importantly, Carly is the only conservative in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer

BULLSHIT.

Excuse me? Were you at the San Diego County Republican Lincoln/Reagan dinner last night? I didn't see you. At which table did you sit? Whom did they honor last night? What was on the menu and what was the table gift?

I'm married to a strong woman. I don't have a problem with strong woman as candidates either. I think Palin's days as a candidate are over.

Palin is a party hack (RINO) and will disappoint no matter her place in the public eye.

She supports Fiorina:

Fiorina supported the Wall Street bailouts.

Fiorina supported Cap and Trade.

Fiorina supported the confirmation of Sonia Sotomayer.

Fiorina has criticized the new Arizona immigration law.

Before she was fired as the CEO of Hewlett-Packard, Fiorina allowed the company to sell technology to Iran.

And last year when liberal Democrats and moderate Republicans were trying to push through a massive tax increase in a California referendum, Carly Fiorina had “no comment.”

Go GOP! NOT!

Just like you siad Hunter had no interest in ever running agin. YOu are a very good liar. And I’ll bet you $100 that neither Hunter nor Popaditch endorsed Fiorina. In fact, I’ll ask them tonight.

Your friend is full of crap.

What is wrong with you? I don't get why you keep name calling? Maybe you don't like the message but the folks last night did tout Fiorina defeating Boxer. I never said there was any formal endorsement. All these seasoned political people know, as Palin knows, who stands a better chance of kicking Boxer out of office.

IT'S POLITICS, pissant, and the Republicans need to be smart.

I applaud Sarah Palin for all of her hard work on behalf of our Conservative cause.

One could say Republican cause rather than conservative cause, but since the Republican is more conservative than the Democrat the large majority of the time, it pretty much means the same thing. And on that we can agree.
