What's as Somali pirate make a year? Is there an incentive program?
Not sure grabbing a Russian ship is a wise move or that it will be very profitable. Especially one headed for China. ;-)

Incentives? They don’t need incentives.....it’a a way of life for them. Incentives are used when training animals, these people are below animals.

Amazing that there is no organized mult-national military response to patrol these waters given the value of oil.

'Redskins owner apologizes over TV dispute involving cheerleader" This won't end until naval forces start sending pirates home in body bags, after execution on the fantail. Barbarism should be treated barbarically. It's the only language the Somali's understand, or respect.

Dear Somali pirates
how LONG can you tread water?

In a contest of which country's ruthless secret police force i would want to P.O. the least those China and Russia would be #2 and #3 respectively. The Mossad would be number 1, but they are probably already none to friendly with the pirates. The CIA isn't on the list as in the international yellow pages they are classified as a comedy troop.

Dear Russia; Kick their butts and hang any survivors from the nearest yardarm. Piratae delenda est.

Putin doesn’t care about bad press in the west. I wonder what sort of arrangements these Somali’s have made to provide for their families in the case if their sudden and spectacular deaths? They will need it.

Oh yes, not that I want the pirates to take another ship, but now hopefully Russia will show Barry Jr how to deal with piracy on the high seas.

Putin should sink the tanker right along the Somali coast and give them an oil slick to remind them not to mess with Russia.

Too many Pirates - not enough yardarms on todays ships to hang them from.

Maybe our fearless leader can use a this as a teachable moment and call Medvedev to tell him how to deploy Russian Navy Snipers to kill the Mutant Teenage Ninja Somali Coast Guard Reservists.

Ah, for the old days, when the Soves would have simply sunk the ship, killing all aboard, and then shelled the Somalian coast until they ran out of ammunition. Kinda makes a feller nostalgic (sniff!).
We know how to stop piracy. Anyone who has ever read a book on maritime history knows how it's done. Whether we choose to do so or not depends only on how much our collective conscience will bother us if we do opt to punish the havens. My part of that conscience is just fine with it but nobody asks me...

Somoli Pirates you say?.....

Isn’t it weird, only a few years since the wall came down, that we’re cheering for the Russians to do what no other country (including the USA), is willing to do???? Go Russia!
