The old gun lobby claim "guns don't kill people" is specious. No one rails against the manufacture of axes or baseball bats; there are no campaigns to ban Bowie knives.

Agreed on all points. Plus he ignores the fact that the greatest mass murder in our history was perpetrated with box cutters and could have been handily stopped on all aircraft with a .38 snubnose in the hands of a pilot.
