It is nice to imagine that, but the reality is the terrorists who took those planes were thought to be hijacking for hostage situation at the time. When they slit the throats of people on the planes, the crewws became conscilliatory. It was not until the real plans were realize that ‘Let’s roll’ took over and the passengers stopped the bastard Islamomurderers, sacrificing their lives to save others. NOW, a snubby in the pilot’s hands would do wonders, back then it was not realized the suicidal extent of demonic murder these Islamists intended.
“Patrick Walsh is a writer who lives in Princeton” ... and has chosen to aid the decline of our Freedoms by applying simplistic reasoning which ignores completely the right we the people have already established via the Constitution. I suspect folks like Walsh aren’t happy with that moldy old rag called The Constitution and would be more than willing for the courts to alter it as they are doing, unconstitutionally.
Disarming us when we fly is a great injustice and shortsighted vs. the intended result anyway. The large majority in any group are reasonably decent people. If you take guns away from everyone, you're taking a lot out of the hands of the good guys than the bad guys. Imagine if 9/11 were perpetrated with guns, but half the passengers were also carrying.
Excellent. I never really thought 911 that way and I will use that fact every time I get into an argument about guns with a librobot.
Bottom line is - if you want to kill people you will find a way with or without guns. It’s the brain behind the trigger, or fuse, or knife, or axe, or baseball bat, or whatever, that decides to kill - not the implement itself.
