Could you post the link to the other thread? FR should get as much credit as it desrves.
Mesta, you are the one who should be patting yourself on the back. With my limited time, all I can do is read and lurk. You have been amazing with all your posts and info. I thank you so very much for what you do here.
I seldom post, but I read everything.
Blessings to you and yours.
Thanks for maintaining it.
Workers.org is the website of the Workers World Party. A real sick bunch. They supported the Tiananmen Square Massacre, Saddam Hussein, Kim Jong Il, his father, and Stalin. They are also the ones who started up the "peace" group ANSWER.
Bump
Oh gesh! Let me go look and see where I found that....be back soon...
Friends of bill, hill, and zebam. ALL
Reporting on the things that are destroying our nation is of utmost importance to all of us who come back each day to see others have found that may ultimately impact us. Thanks to everyone postiing AND reading TM.
Banned terror outfits recruiting fresh jihadis under govt's nose in Pak
According to a Daily Times report, several such organisations , which were banned by the previous General Pervez Musharraf government for promoting extremism, have now started to unite.
These banned groups are campaigning openly and recruiting young men to carry out 'jihad', the report said.
Fed up with beating by parents and teachers, kids try to cross LoC
In an eye-opener of sorts, Jammu and Kashmir Police have caught six boys aged 12 to 13 as they were planning to cross the line of control (LoC) for arms training in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Investigations later revealed two more students were part of the plan, but opted out at the last minute. The reason they wanted to cross over was frequent beating by teachers and parents.
Radical Belgian Muslims turn to Jihadist cleric Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdisi for guidance
An individual who described himself as belonging to a group of Muslims agitating for the implementation of the shari'a in Belgium wrote to the senior salafi jihadi sheikh Abu Muhammad Al-Maqdisi with a request for guidance. Al-Maqdisi, who lives in Jordan, is best known as the mentor of Abu Mus'ab Al-Zarqawi; more recently he has provided guidance to the Islamic Emirate of the Caucasus,[1] salafi jihadis in Nigeria,[2] and probably to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb as well.[3] In his reply, Al-Maqdisi told the Belgian Muslims to support the active jihads by providing funding, men, or however else they could, but counseled against carrying out attacks in Belgium as long as they are incapable of mounting a sustained conflict.
The author of the letter signed his name as "Abu Imran" (written in Latin characters). There is in fact an Abu Imran who is known in Belgium as a leader in the group called sharia4belgium which has begun recently to draw some attention. Their website[4] is currently not working, but videos of this Abu Imran can still be seen on the sharia4belgium YouTube channel.[5] British Islamist Anjem Choudary, head of the Islam 4 UK organization, recently recorded a video in support of sharia4belgium.[6] It cannot be definitively confirmed that this Abu Imran is the one who wrote Al-Maqdisi, but it is definitely a possibility worth investigating.
Radiation death in India raises nuclear safety concerns
Authorities have launched a probe into the unauthorized disposal of a disused machine from the chemistry department of Delhi University, which contained the radioactive material cobalt-60 and ended up in a scrap metal hub in the capital.
A man died in hospital from exposure last week, in a case a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was quoted as saying was the most serious worldwide since 2006.
Finally, the truth can be told. The United States has officially announced that it has 5,113 nuclear weapons in its arsenal, plus several thousand more waiting to be dismantled. The totals are so close to the unofficial estimates that have been publicly circulating for years, you might wonder what all the excitement is about. American intelligence officials long argued that disclosing the numbers would help terrorists calculate the minimum fuel needed for a weapon. If that was ever true, it is certainly out of date. Reputable Web sites already reveal that American weapons designers need around 4 kilograms of plutonium, or about 8.8 pounds.
Radical Islam makes inroads among Latin America's Native peoples
In 2009, Colombian authorities dismantled a network of narcotraffickers linked to Islamist terrorists. Funds derived from the narcotrafficking are believed to have been diverted to Hezbollah an Islamist terror organization supported by Iran holding sway in areas ostensibly controlled by the Palestinian Authority. It is feared that this consortium of Latin American narcotraffickers and Islamic terror has ties to Mexico as well. While Venezuela and Iran are known to have close diplomatic, strategic, and commercial relations, it is now believed that Iranian agents are working from their nations embassy in Colombia where there are believed to be members of the Muslim community that support Hezbollah. Other such activities have also been detected in other Latin countries.
Obama Administration turns blind eye to Muslim foreign militia in Pennsylvania
Christian militias have been raided in Michigan and Ohio, their members rounded up and tossed in prison and their caches of weapons confiscated.
But a well-armed Muslim militia comprised not of American citizens but foreign militants operates under the noses of federal and state law enforcement officials.
If you dont it, pay a visit to Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, in the heart of the Pocono Mountains.
These guys use fully automatic weapons AK-47s for target practice, one local businessman says. We called the FBI but nothing has been done to stop them.
The Muslims have been here for years, another resident says. Theyve been engaged in training for guerilla warfare.
The Muslims in question are Turks who occupy a 45-acre compound that is owned and operated by Fethullah Gulen.
No. No. No. See, without the rest of you, this thread ceases to exist. Sticking a header up is nothing. Great researchers and wonderful people post here...and read here.
Look at this thread! I only restarted it. By no means could I do this by myself. Not to mention all the guys who put up threads all over this board that we link to from here. Not to mention all the freepmails I get from so many people.
I want everyone to understand this. This is FR History here. TM has been running continuously since 2003. Most of that, I had nothing to do with, but it is precisely Threat Matrix threads that brought me here. It was the reason I signed up on FR in the first place.
Before I put up the graphics on the last thread, I only posted rarely. But I read it all the time. So when I was asked to redesign the graphics, I was honored to do it. I still am. But this is NOT my thread and it never was. It belongs to the people who have stayed here and posted year after year.
I don’t know why some of the original posters left, but I sure wish they would come back because it’s worth it. It really is.
Ditto that Mesta. I have nothing but respect for everyone responsible for TM throughout the years and I miss some of the "oldies" tremendously as well. I realize some have dial-up issues with the graphics, but most of the thread is NOT graphics, it is articles and links. My FReeper FRiends (through the years to current) are always in my prayers.
Hookah cafe owners - ban will ruin us
It's after midnight inside a Dearborn café as Abu Tarek takes a puff off his hookah and exhales, curls of fruit-scented smoke wafting into the air.
"This is our culture," Tarek, 54, of Dearborn said. He elaborated on a recent night inside the newly opened Prestige Café & Grill: "We have to do this. If we drink coffee, we have to smoke it. If we eat, we have to smoke it. If we relax, we have to smoke it."
But that Arab tradition, in about 120 cafés across metro Detroit, could end now that Michigan's smoking ban has taken effect. The law bans establishments that offer hookah smoking from selling any food or beverages -- a move that owners say would effectively drive out hookah cafés.

Obama bow to Saudi king led to Times Square plot
Snip: "He accepted the courtesy and even hugged Hosni Mubarak who is one of the most brutal dictators in the Muslim world," Scheuer continued.
"He bowed to the Saudi King when he was out there in Saudi Arabia -- showing his subservience," he concluded.
Awww. Looky tbere. They gave him flowers. San Fran Tali ban.
I wasn’t too worried about Cantor myself, FRiend. =]
A note of interest from The Rush Limbaugh Show yesterday, May 5, 2010:
CALLER: There’s something else that’s going on in the United States military. I don’t know if many people are talking about this, but I want to go ahead and just let you know. The Constitution is not being taught.
RUSH: In the US military?
CALLER: In the US military. I just came back from an Army leaders school, and we went into this whole thing of Army ethics. My ears perked up once I saw that the Constitution was in there, and I’m thinking, “Okay, good. Maybe there isn’t a lot of bad stuff going on.” We covered the preamble for ten seconds and then moved on. We spent maybe two hours on riot control, but all the Constitution got was ten seconds of coverage. We’re sworn to support and defend this document.
RUSH: The real question here is: Did they teach you the Miranda warnings?
CALLER: No!
RUSH: Well, they slipped up on that. You know, ‘cause that’s the new policy.
CALLER: Apparently it is. I mean, they’re more concerned about teaching us live control and —

That conversation made me very uncomfortable. LIVE CONTROL.
What the heck does that mean?
What is going on in our miltary?
I woke up this morning to see Rep. Jack Kingston on Fox calling for hearings and an investigation to find out why and who is responsible for disinviting both Franklin Graham and Tony Perkins to speak on National Prayer Day. This was the ARMY and AIR FORCE respectively.
Though both invitations were formally withdrawn by the Pentagon, a spokesman stated that the the disinvitions were directed by the president. The reason given:
“The president is “uncomfortable” with the view of these speakers, as it is incompatable with his beliefs.”
Now I am an Orthodox Jew. Some of their views are a tad incompatable with MY beliefs too. But it is their religion and as long as they don’t plant bombs in my backyard or come after me with machetes, they have every right to speak about Christianity and its teachings all day long.
Their stances on so many things which are the basic foundations of morality and decency and adherence to the fundamental tenets of both our religions, are indisputable.
They dared speak the truth about the shameful and despicable practices of islam. Not just towards other religions, but towards their own people. And that is the sin which the president finds “incompatable” with his beliefs.
They also dare to speak about the rights of the unborn. We know our president has no regard for preborn human beings, and even less regard for babies born alive during botched abortions.
His stunningly evil and immoral votes to just let them die slow and painful deaths are gut wrenching. He voted to murder the most innocent among us. He is already a damned soul. No wonder he is “uncomfortable.”
And last, but by no means least, islam will have a place at this table. islam which stones women for simply existing; a “religion” that preaches murder of anyone unislamic; a religion which practices slavery; a religion that plans murder and celebrates murderers of innocent people. And far worse.
THIS, the president of this country is “comfortable “ with. THIS is “compatable” with his beliefs. And THIS, we cannot and should not abide.
G-d in Heaven. PLEASE help my country.
Lively debate about this bill at the gun grab thread. I offered my two cents here:

Message from the Leader of Taliban in Pakistan (Translation)
(From Haheemullah Mehsud)
“And I want to make one more thing very clear...”

Where have I heard that phrase most recently?
Heheheh!
It’s Bush’s fault!

NEW YORK MAY 5, 2010.
From New Citizen to Suspect in a Year Pakistan-Born Shahzad Faced Foreclosure in Connecticut and Disliked President Bush; an Invisible Man at His University
Faisal Shahzad was losing his Connecticut home to foreclosure, disliked President George W. Bush, and was an almost invisible presence at the American university where he earned two degrees.
Those are some of the details in the still-emerging portrait of the man who authorities say has implicated himself in the botched Times Square bomb plot.
snip
Igor Djuric, a broker who showed Mr. Shahzad the 1,356-square-foot home he eventually bought, said he remembered that Mr. Shahzad was quiet about himself, but was openly critical of President Bush in the aftermath of the Iraq war.
“I didn’t take it for anything, since a lot of people didn’t like Bush,” Mr. Djuric said, “but he was a little bit strong about expressing it.”
