Talking Points:
1. Delegate McDonough has been a recognized leader on the immigration reform issue. He has introduced numerous pieces of legislation in the Maryland General Assembly and appeared on national news programs on CNN, Fox, MSNBC and other stations.
2. Delegate McDonough will introduce a bill in the 2011 Maryland General Assembly session that will replicate the Arizona immigration law.
3. Delegate McDonough will send a survey letter to all candidates for Governor and Maryland General Assembly asking for their position on the issue in order to inform the public. Mr. McDonough will post his findings with the news media and on a website prior to the election.
4. Delegate McDonough has invited Senator Pierce from Arizona, the primary sponsor of the new law, to visit Maryland as a guest speaker at a future event.
Texas is making the same noises.

It has about as much chance of passing as a bill defunding CASA. After 10 years in MD, I’m sure glad we moved to VA a couple of years ago.

I'm flummoxed!
The only thing that flabbergasts me in this state is when an elected official...the legislature...or the voters get something right or even come close to doing so.In January we sent a Republican to the Senate by a margin wide enough that the RATS couldn't steal it...like in Minnesota.A couple of days ago our legislature came within a few votes of actually recognizing that this country has a right to have borders.If it's that bad for the RAT philosophy here think of how bad it must in *normal* states.
It amazes me... the contradictions! They are here illegally, yet we allow them to go to school cheaper than legal residents, in many cases on the taxpayer dime!

Doesn’t sound very likely right now. I heard a news report on the radio earlier this morning that Gov. McDonnell says that Virginia has done all it can do against illigal immigration. Maybe he’s getting too much heat from the lawsuit challenging ObamaCare and the Confederate history month kerfluffle.
Welcome to MD! Native Central MDer but lived/worked in CT 2 years (still remember it well - as if I was there 20). I know what you mean all around. Just remember that CT had a Repub gov before MD - but then again, they also had the molesting-seatbelt laws 1st and started the “police work zone/slow-down” when I was there!

As you are probably aware, the Northern VA jurisdictions started tightening up on illegals, so they went to the ‘sanctuary city’ locales nearby, i.e., DC and Montgomery/PG Counties in MD. So long as Marylanders keep electing what they do to office, you’re stuck with ‘em.
Prince William County has really tightened up, and illegals have self-deported. Probably to DC or MD, as you say.
