Local Turkish officials will ask the central government in Ankara to apply for UNESCO World Heritage status so the site can be protected while a major archaeological dig is conducted. Local Turkish officials will always say stuff like this.
Anyone remember this "Ark" from the 60s? 
Local Turkish officials built a vistors center 
Then they asked the central government to run a highway by it 
Add sign 
Few people actually go to the vistor center (It's usually closed), but Local Turkish officials now have a nice highway serving the district.
