NEW YORK (AP) Producers of "South Park" said Thursday that Comedy Central removed a speech about intimidation and fear from their show after a radical Muslim group warned that they could be killed for insulting the Prophet Muhammad.
It came during about 35 seconds of dialogue between the cartoon characters of Kyle, Jesus Christ and Santa Claus that was bleeped out.
"It wasn't some meta-joke on our part," producers Trey Parker and Matt Stone said. Comedy Central declined to comment.
Earlier this week, the radical group Revolution Muslim said on its website that "South Park" had insulted their prophet during last week's episode by depicting him in a bear costume.
The group said it wasn't threatening Parker and Stone, but it included a gruesome picture of Theo Van Gogh, a Dutch filmmaker killed by a Muslim extremist in 2004, and said the producers could meet the same fate. The website posted the addresses of Comedy Central's New York office and the California production studio where "South Park" is made.

I applause the producers of South Park, as they are truly talented as well as ballsy. They don’t back down from anyone, and they are true comedians that as the late great Carlin would say are “equal opportunity offenders; if you haven’t been offended, just wait a minute.”
Somehow I suspect that the reaction of Comedy Central would be far different than this if Sarah Palin threatened The Daily Show.
Bowing down to Islamonazi terrorism is cowardice.
Viacom-Comedy Central have also revealed themselves to be antiChristian and antiBuddhist bigots who see no hypocrisy in airing insulting portrayls of those and other faiths while sheltering “poor whittle Iswam”.
This is the new ObamaNation! Christian bashing is acceptable and even expected. Just don’t say anything bad about the Muzzies or you’ll DIE!
meanwhile muslims tell the army that a Christian cannot say a prayer for prayer day
just what the hell.
it’s high time many in this country got some balls and told them to piss off if they do not like our free speech or our laws or even how we live and make jokes
Exactly right. Does this really surprise anyone? If these networks and the media as a whole is not even brave enough to take on, or speak out against xero, what makes anyone thing they will when it comes to islam?
islam is a religion of peace.....you had better agree or muslims will kill you!
There are only three types which can agree with the filth of islam; sneaks, cheats and liars, cowards or homo-leninists!
They can't very well come after us by the millions. Every time I see a story about Muslim unwillingness to allow First Amendment Rights to Americans, I make sure to post the most offensive thing I can find.
We own this country through our Constitution, and they can go suck hind pork teat.
We had better nip this Islamocrap stuff in the bud right damn now. Else we will be the UK all over again.
This country has a “Take Your Child” to work mentality, not a “Take Your Child Bride” mentality. If you have the latter, time for you to go back to a place that has a lot more sand and oil in it.
Shocking that I am in 100% agreement with Jon Stewart on this. Wow!
Scroll down about a third of the way..
But they DIDN’T depict Mohammy in a bear suit. It was Santa Claus in the bear suit the whole time!
The whole episode was about putting Mo ham, Ed, in a machine to extract from him “the power not to be made fun of”. Tom Cruise got it for a few minutes, but then it went away. That’s when the speech started, and it was one long bleep. The whole episode was difficult to understand because they bleeped out every mention of The Ham One and he was mentioned A LOT.
Well, when CC does things like this, they just point the rhetorical howitzer of Stone and Parker right back at themselves.
>This country has a Take Your Child to Work” mentality, not a Take Your Child Bride mentality.
Considering the “health care reform” bill defines ‘child’ as 26 or younger, it might not be fair to say we don’t have a “Take Your Child Bride” mentality. (I’m 27, and pretty interested in a 22 year-old girl.)
I hate muzzles and I hate i-slam. At your throat or at your feet. Like dogs.
So, let me see if I understand this: they were intimidated by Muslim groups into removing an exchange about “a speech about intimidation and fear” as it relates to Islam? No irony there.
Excuse me, but since when is it legal to make a pretty not-veiled threat to murder someone? And online? Why aren’t they rounding these nuts up?
