For most lawmakers, DWI stands for driving while intoxicated. For Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), DWI stands for driving while illegal.
In an appearance on "The O'Reilly Factor" on Tuesday Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said that illegal immigrants were intentionally causing car accidents along state freeways.
(snip)
"Look, our border is not secured. Our citizens are not safe," he said.

You can change punishments without a law being ex post facto. The Congress may alter penalties for unlawful acts committed on or after the date of the enactment of a law forbidding those acts, but not for unlawful acts committed prior to the date of the enactment of a law. The McCain-Kennedy (and successor) bills attempted to change the penalties for foreign nationals who were already de facto physically and unlawfully present within United States territory; the McCain-Kennedy (and successor) bills were and are by definition ex post facto laws.

John, just go away.
Ride off into the sunset or just ride off.

McCain gained all this knowledge because he just finished reading J D Hayworth’s book “Whatever It Takes”. The book deals with illegal immigration and how to stop it.
Nice going McCain. Any original ideas?

It's the drive-by that -- the drivers of cars with illegals in it that are intentionally causing accidents on the freeway." Desperate, babbling. McCain will have plenty of time to rest after November.

After the Presidential run...I thought that McCain would gracefully come out and retire at the end of this year. It’s difficult to imagine this guy continuing on. Health wise, if he makes it three years of this period...I’ll be surprised. Maybe that’s the purpose of this deal....some insider with no name recognition is tagging along with state Republican players and will be the nominee in three years as McCain bows out and the governor appoints the new guy.

I’ll have to put the book on my list.

I’m certain that McStain is right. The mob’s top money maker right now is insurance fraud. Their best tool for that would be illegal aliens.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day, expecially with Hayworth holding a hammer next to it.

McC is starting to sound like Rip van Winkle. I can't believe he is just stumbling on to this. LOL---nice take, CG. This jerk's been in bed with RINOS for 20 years while our country was being invaded......then suddenly at reelection time he wakes up and discovers he's a conservative.

"McCain is in a panic."Certainly looks like it. First the sweeps in AZ, now this bizarre statement.
To: moehoward
Well McCain’s statement is probably factual because illegals do get in accidents for insurance fraud/scams. His LaRaza pals will be unhappy. McCain and Graham-nesty are disgusting.

THAT'S a great cartoon. I wonder if any Arizonians are feeble-minded enough to buy it, or corrupt enough to allow it to continue. Sounds like the State is broke, so it isn't like he's been sending it home by the boxcar full.

Oh, and lest anyone of Hispanic or Spanish descent believe I am a racist, I have been involved with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce formation and exchange programs for scientists and physicians, as well as immigration for many from Latin America, Central America and Spain. I don't wanna’ hear ANY bunk about being racist. I even served as a duenna for a young scientist from Mexico 30 years ago. Her uncle would not let her study abroad without one. I really don't wanna’ hear any talk from either side.
If Swedes or Swiss were pulling this nonsense, I'd be just as unhappy with “Ostrich Head” McCain.
