Threat of New, Larger Icelandic Eruption Looms
AP/FoxNews ^ | 4/20/10

For all the worldwide chaos that Iceland's volcano has already created, it may just be the opening act.

Scientists fear tremors at the Eyjafjallajokull volcano could trigger an even more dangerous eruption at the nearby Katla volcano — creating a worst-case scenario for the airline industry and travelers around the globe.

A Katla eruption would be 10 times stronger and shoot higher and larger plumes of ash into the air than its smaller neighbor, which has already brought European air travel to a standstill for five days and promises severe travel delays for days more.

Only a hefty tax on eruptions can save us now

It is time to get everyone in Iceland to go to Vic (since that is one of the few towns there I can pronounce) and have the US Navy come join them to tip the island over and extinguish the Volcano.

I stand ready to accept my Nobel Prize whenever they choose to annoint me.

I intend to share my prize money with my mentor, US Representative Hank Johnson , the United Nations International Climate Panel and my personal hero, Al Gore.

Let’s send Geraldo to report from the mouth of the volcano!

How can Katla be ten times stronger than Eyjafjallajokull?

I propose that we rename Eyjafjallajokull, "Bob", for efficiency's sake!

The only upside to this is that “Katla” is easier to pronounce and type than “Eyjafjallajokull.”

Perhaps they need to change their name from Iceland to Volcanoland.

In the past, all three known eruptions of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano triggered subsequent eruptions of the larger and more dangerous volcano Katla.

“Let’s send Geraldo to report from the mouth of the volcano!”

The mouth? No I think Geraldo is more familiar with the other end. ;-)

"or all the worldwide chaos that Iceland's volcano has already created, it may just be the opening act.

The second act could immediately follow the first act in volcano time. That could be like 60k years in human time. Better.

The left-tards will find a way to blame this on conservatives. Just you wait and see.

"Katla can start tomorrow or in 100 years, you don't know," said Palsson. "All we can do is be ready."

In that case let's lay awake in fear at night and panic during the day, shall we?

Everybody knows that global warming/cooling/climate change causes dandruff and volcanic eruptions. Besides it’s George Bush’s fault and there must also be a connection to the Tea Party movement. (Sarcasm)

Possible you are right.

“And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.” Matthew 24:6-7
