Why this rabbi didn't vote for Obama
Jewish World Review ^ | April 20, 2010 | Rabbi Mitchell Wohlberg

I must begin by telling you that I was uncomfortable writing this sermon. I wondered whether it was too harsh or not harsh enough. I asked myself if I should be delivering it or if I should have delivered it two years ago. So I'll leave it to you to decide. . . .

blah, blah, blah. This Rabbi seems like he has to apologize and twist himself into a pretzel to justify his not voting for Obama.

Is the liberal group-think that strong among Jews?

This is a Rabbi who cares about and identifies with Israel. This group has always been uncomfortable with Obama and Wright and is getting more and more vocal. Another large group of American Jews is indifferent about Israel and cares more about leftist politics. They’re still asleep.

Although I felt he offered a measure of hope for our country, and although I felt the election of a black man as President of the United States would be one of the most positive and remarkable events to take place during my lifetime, and although I agreed with many parts of his domestic policies

:::rolls eyes:::

So basically, if Obama were to make nice with Israel, it would be okay with this rabbi if he destroyed the United States.

As a religious Jew from Baltimore I know a lot about this guy. He is a “Rabbi” of a synagogue in which almost 90% of its members don’t keep the sabbath. He is a big leftist but unlike some other JINO’s he has the intellectual honesty and fortitude to admit that the chosen one is bad. All orthodox rabbis have been conservative Republicans for years.

Admiral Mike Mullen, was quoted as saying that Israel's stubbornness makes the U.S. appear impotent.

No. Obama's fecklessness makes the US appear impotent.

I did learn something from this.

Barack Obama entitled his book "The Audacity of Hope" — a title he got from Rev. Wright. The truth of the matter is the history of the Jewish people could be entitled, "The Audacity of Hope," as expressed in Israel's national anthem, the Hatikvah, meaning "the hope."

I had not made the association between "The Audacity of Hope" and "Hatikva" before. It would appear that even in this, Obama used an Alinsky tactic by stealing the good words of others and twisting them for his own political use. Perhaps it is no accident that David Axelrod, leftist Jew, came up with the slogan "Hope and Change".

From Rabbi Mitchell Wohlberg's article......
It was with this feeling uppermost in my mind that I chose not to vote for Barack Obama for President. Although I felt he offered a measure of hope for our country, and although I felt the election of a black man as President of the United States would be one of the most positive and remarkable events to take place during my lifetime, and although I agreed with many parts of his domestic policies … it was his foreign policy views that concerned me and proved decisive. I have a much more hawkish view than he does on foreign policy. I have always considered myself what is called a "Jackson Democrat" and I was genuinely concerned about Obama's perspective on Israel.

Even the Jews are waking up.

I beg to differ with you. The same dumb ass 78% of liberal Jews in America who voted for the socialist-commie pig 0bozo & the socialist demoRATs would do so again in a heartbeat. Rabbi Mitchell gushes over everything that bastard 0bozo does, including his socialist destruction of America, and only is critical of 0bozo from the standpoint of Israel. Other than Israel, Wohlberg doesn't have a problem with 0bozo or his socialist agenda & destruction of America. The best friends that Israel has in this country are from evangelical & fundamental born again Christians.

Rabbi Wohlberg is still the same dumb ass liberal Jew that he was before. How does he feel about the rest of the socialist demoRATs? Very supportive I would say! He's a frikkin liberal idiot!

From Rabbi Mitchell Wohlberg's article......
"We should be strong, use our brain and defend ourselves so that the Holocaust will never be repeated." I don't fear that the Holocaust will be repeated. This is not 1938 all over again....

Stupid liberal dumb ass idiot! Keep voting for socialist demoRATs and you will find yourself & other Jews being herded off to socialist re-education camps....never to be heard from again.

This mitchell guy is pathetic. He is a pseudo rabbi. No real Rabbi in Baltimore gives him the day of light. He is only liked by his congregation of drones. Even there, he had to temper his remarks with all of his disclaimers and apologies for speaking out against the one.

If liberal JINOS wake up (and they are), it is a seismic shift.

JINOS, for all their secular nonsense, are natural Republicans -— work hard, business smarts, professionals, etc.

They are small in number (1.7% of the population), but I am happy to take who I can get.

A snake in the Garden did that, as well.

Chill. Find some respect. You may not agree with this gentleman but he is a scholar. He is definitely a liberal and that is a plain fact but that doesn't make him evil or deluded. Attack the facts, the opinions, but not the man. OK?

The facts are that Rabbi Wohlberg supports a socialist commie pig like 0bozo in just about everything but his policy towards Israel. I imagine that it would take nothing more than a speech by Obozo proclaiming his support for Israel, to get Wohlberg to flip over for 0bozo. Rabbi Wohlberg supports an evil, immoral, despicable reprobate like 0bozo who is doing all he can to bankrupt & destroy our country economically & morally and transform our nation into a socialist hellhole. What does that make Wohlberg, if not cut from the same evil, deluded cloth? He doesn’t sound very intellectual to me. He is just another delusional liberal retard. Sounds like he is more than willing to support 0bozo in everything else. Those are the facts.

According to the 2008 exit polls, Barack Obama won 78% to 21% among Jewish voters. Now, in the second year of Obama’s presidency, only 42% of voters would re-elect him, while the plurality (46%) would consider voting for someone else. Key voter segments including, Orthodox/Hasidic voters, Conservative voters, voters who have friends and family in Israel and voters who have been to Israel, are more likely to consider someone else. There is clearly a voter difference depending upon their religious beliefs and their ties to Israel.

Thanks for the update & article link. The concern I have (even from the article) is that there is really not any indication that the 46% of Jews would vote for conservatives or Republicans, just that they would vote for someone else. I still think the percentage that will vote again for 0bozo will end up being in the mid-to-high 60% range. Just my opinion.

You may be right. Time will tell. However, a large number deserted the Dems in 1980; hopefully, we’ll see a big change in November.

A wonderful thread. A Rabbi who voted for McCain (and publicly supported GWB) not only provides those Freepers so inclined to wax on the stupidity of Jews, but also to haul out the disloyalty canard, as us "conservatives" all know a Jew voting for McCain (or GWB) did it only for Israel's benefit, America be damned.

Exactly, the Jews who voted for Obama were stupid and un-American, the Jews who voted for McCain and GWB simply un-American.

From this Jew you can stick that where the sun don't shine.

Jew should look to fine "conservatives" like you for support. The idea that Obama is going to ship Jews off to concentration camps betrays the truely despicable opinion you hold of America, but were something like that to transpire, I won't be looking to people like you for support.
