A former student has sued Brown University in federal court, saying university officials interfered with his efforts to clear his name after another student, the daughter of a prominent Brown alumnus and donor, accused him of rape.
After the student amended her complaint to include rape, Brown officials met with Mr. McCormick and presented him with a one-way ticket home to Wisconsin. According to the lawsuit, they denied his requests for a copy of the complaint against him and he was not given an opportunity to provide his version of events. He was told only that he faced a complaint of sexual misconduct, the lawsuit asserts.
No hearing; no discovery; no cross-examination; no due process. That Brown is a private college means nothing. Brown nonetheless discriminated against McCormick because he happened to have been born a man.

Sarah Palin’s goal is to shatter the glass ceiling.
They threatened to arrest him.
The new “he said, she said”:
“She said, and that’s good enough for us.”
Brown University....is that where they build dykes?
if this guy wants to fight this ruling, good for him......have at it....
does he think that fathers are not going to support and defend their dtrs?....even if it means only applying pressure at her college to kick someone out?....
I would hope most freeper men would do the same
I do remember the seamy details (drunk slut left by her “friends” on a boys dorm room floor, etc.) and I don't remember the slut's name, but I certainly DO remember that boy's name and his home town. Just disgraceful.
I hope this kid in the article takes them to the cleansers.
Due process is a scarce commodity in the world of bureaucracy. Brown being a private leftwing sewer, this poor sap may be SOL. Take heed where you go to school.
That article could have been written by me in 1998. I was actually aware of this stuff back in the 80’s but did not think it would hit me. Then it did in 1997. My wife of 20 years (and we had three daughters) divorced me “without cause” and I found my situation was not only very much like the one in this story, but is playing out the way this story does: http://www.fredoneverything.net/Divorce.shtml
The good news today is the loss of prosperity in our nation is taking the wind out of feminists sails. Unfortunately, a lot of bad things will come of it at first. Like taking chemo to cure cancer, the cure can seem almost as devastating as the disease. But it is the natural course of things.
This nation/culture is heating up. When things reach the boiling point and come back down again, there will be little room for feminism for many generations.
That is, assuming we are not on the precipice of the Lords return. Then it will turn out, ah, differently. I don’t know which it is though. It could be just another upheaval like WWII. Either way, it will go very, VERY badly for a LOT of people.
And see my tag line.
Umm, we socons despise radical feminism.
The issue isn't so much her motives, but the school's apparent "guilty until proved innocent" approach to dealing with it.
“If SoCons are intent on restoring traditional roles (most arent nearly as strong in their support of that as they think) then they must understand that a patriarchal system in the old style is the only way that will happen and enabling feminism at any level is a recipe for the kind of society divided against itself that we currently face.”
You’ve got most of us mixed with someone else. I’m a socon and I agree with the biblical principles that a man is supposed to be the head of his household, as Christ is the head of the Church.
“chivalry as a concept by which we abide”
Ahh, take a chair with the radfems. The radfems despise chivalry because they believe that treating women with the appropriate respect is wrong.
Chivalry is essential to tearing down radical feminism. If a lady is treated properly by her boyfriend in the first place then she isn’t going to be a fertile ground for feminist ideals later on.
Chivalry makes radical feminism useless because it exposes the lie that women are mistreated and helpless.
You're right ... and even more important, if a girl and her mother are treated well by her father, she's not going to be open to radical feminist propaganda.
No, they probably dont like it which may be the problem. Not enough carpet involved.
We know what you think. The laws are weighted a particular direction, as is the culture, just because there are a bunch of a-hole men out there doesn’t mean you should incent bad behavior on the part of any particular group.
You don’t understand the point. Chivalry now manifests itself in behavior that reinforces the worst social pathologies that are being cultivated in women in contemporary society.
Meaning, you get echoes of chivalric behavior when men support laws to “help women” that are actually codifying feminine superiority.
Why do you think many feminist lawyer groups are AGAINST reform of alimony laws, changing child custody (shared parenting, etc) and other equalizing measures? Because, while they may ridicule ‘chivalry’ in interpersonal relations, they are for its installment as a legal regime and many SOCon politicians fall right in line BECAUSE they still entertain CHIVALRIC notions of femininity, sexual virtue, and male protectiveness over females.
Also, what is the “consent to each step of the process” mode of sexual thinking but a legalistic, distorted version of chivalry? Same thing with SoCon and RadFem alliances on pornography (Though there are ‘sex-positive’ feminists these days who are the opposite, IN SOME respects)
Dispense with these precepts, for they are being used to make war against your sons. BTW, they also make your sons look weak to women and turn them into husbands who will be left. But hey, don’t worry about the destruction of wealth when your son gets divorced, the taking of his children even when he wants them and the high depression and suicide rates.
Don’t confuse chivalry with “dominance,” “leadership” of the couple or “alphaness.” There was a time you could blend them but very few can get away with that now.
