Clinton and MSM on the "conservative political activism/protest is violence" campaign
Big Journalism ^ | 4/19/2010 | Gregg Opelka

"Former President Bill Clinton marks today’s 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing with an op-ed in the New York Times that continues his cautionary campaign against violent rhetoric. Following up on statements made last week and again this weekend, Clinton again loosely connects the tone of the country circa 1995 to that of today, warning that we are getting close to crossing the same violent line that was crossed fifteen years ago."

I want to comment on the recent rash of MSM rhetoric that is trying to equate conservative activism with "hateful violence".

It's their idea that the Obama-ite worldview is the positive story, and anything opposed to that is anti-American or backwards so to speak.

Where were they when Pelosi and company were slamming President Bush left and right before the 2006 and 2008 elections?

Just once you'd love to see a CNN pundit get on there and examine the positive side of the tea party movements.

Bill Clinton said he wanted an end to the politics of personal destruction.

Then again, he said that he did not have sex with Monica Lewinsky.

Now that the shoe is on the other foot and the Left is trying to rape the country, their message is "shut up and enjoy it."

Well, FUBO!!!

So I guess dissent is no longer the “Highest form of patriotism,” eh Hillary?

A rant I posted on another thread about Joe Klein accusing Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh of sedition:

It is time to call these Democrats and their organ grinder monkeys in the media what they are...STALINISTS! These people are doing whatever they can to demonize and thus staunch legitimate opposition to this president and his policies. Frankly, THEY are the ones committing treason against the constitution in trying to stigmatize and stifle free speech. They are the ones trying to wipe out any dissent against Obama and the Democrats like the tyrannical, hypocrital fiends they are. The Founders intended a robust political opposition and that’s what Beck, Limbaugh et al engage in. Whatever happened to Hillary’s “dissent is the highest form of patriotism” rant?
Amazing how quick these liberal shills forgot what went on under Bush. They lionized the likes of Cindy Sheehan and Michael Moore who arguably could be accused of committing sedition, but now suddenly when a Democrat is in office political free speech is to be silenced? What about others who in a time of war emboldened our enemies by demanding the US retreat from Iraq, or worse saying the US had already been defeated there (Harry Reid), or accusing the president of lying to get us into a war? Talk about REAL sedition. But no, Joe Klein and the other media hypocrites reveled in this kind of irresponsible rhetoric which likely cost many US lives in Iraq by emboldening our enemies with the idea the more US blood they spilled the more they could gin up US political opposition to the war and potentially force the US into humiliating defeat. If that aid and comfort Michael Moore, Cindy Sheehan, most of the Democratic Congressional Caucus and yes-—Joe Klein and other members of the media echo chamber-—gave to Al Qaeda during the height of the Iraq War and the War on Terror was not sedition, then I don’t know what is. But that’s all this Stalinistic rant by Klein accusing the right of “sedition” over DOMESTIC POLICIES MIND YOU (not a war or national security) is about-—projection of their own sins in the Bush years onto others.

But what those on the right are doing in SUBSTANTIVELY and RATIONALLY calling attention to the destructiveness and lies in Obama’s DOMESTIC policies is now somehow a threat to the nation? None of these personalities on the right have called for violence and very little’s been committed-—certainly compared to Jindal’s aide being mauled by some lefty nut or Eric Cantor’s office being shot up, incidents the media largely ignored. Meanwhile Klein and other neo-Stalinists continue to employ Obama’s Alinskyite Chicago street punk intimidation campaign to de-legitimize Obama’s political opposition in citing unproven allegations of racist remarks and threats against Democrats—with all of one tape so far produced to even back up such threat claims and NOTHING produced to prove what is alleged to have been said against John Lewis. And all the while the media ignores that there are at least 2 proven threats made against Republicans on tape—Eric Cantor and Jean Schmidt of Ohio not to mention the threats actually carried out that I mentioned already. Yet the clown car media ignores the fact the Congressional Sargeant at Arms says there’s been no uptick in threats of violence against Congressmen during the healthcare debate. Again, this was all cooked up in a political Reichstag burning to sully and silence legitimate dissent.

But it’s time someone with a national voice and credibility on both sides of the aisle stood up and said to the likes of Joe Klein what liberals so love in what was said to Joe McCarthy “Sirs...have you no shame?”

...warning that we are getting close to crossing the same violent line that was crossed fifteen years ago.

Or maybe "the same violent line" crossed 235 years ago at Lexington & Concord.

Thanks for posting this. I was still stuck in the belief that “dissent is patriotic”, which is so 2000-2008, and I’m glad you brought me back into the Democrat Regime perspective that “dissent must be crushed in the name of free speech”.
