If I’m not mistaken, this thing erupted once before (1800’s?) and kept going for close to a year.

they have no fodder for livestock if the land is poisoned by fluoride in the ash
Hard to say what undersea venting is doing to the fisheries
If the ground water goes, I don’t know how anyone can stay

"By the way, if that glacier is melting should we be prepared for the hennie-pennies of the world to start shouting hysterically about the rising oceans...??" No, not enough ice there.
I expect to begin hearing the effect these ash clouds will have on the worldwide temperature and its effect on crops...and, the resultant food shortages, etc.
If one of the sister volcanoes starts erupting, food shortages would almost be assured.

How does this eruption compare with Tambora in 1815, which had global climate consequences for a couple of years? No climate consequences. The ash cloud is 7 miles high vs 20 or more miles for Tambora and Pinatubo. Height is critical because sulfur needs to stay in the stratosphere to cause cooling. Another factor is this is high latitude which causes less global cooling than a low latitude eruption.

Katla...that’s the one, Thanks! I saw a brief on the news last night and they are very, very worried that Katla is about to uncork again too.

Much smaller, but stay tuned if neighboring volcano Katla starts erupting.

"Seems the dislocation will be massive." Yes...though it could get worse. The ash hasn't actually struck them yet(it's blowing elsewhere)...pity if it does.

LMAO at this volcano screwing up all those European flights. Shows how small man is in the great scheme of things. Some Euros will figure out that man caused “Global Warming” is just as ridiculous as piloting an airplane through a volcanic dust cloud

Bring out the piston powered airplanes.
To: blam
But but but the Gorians said that this volcano wasn’t putting out much ash, certainly not enough to effect the evils of man-made CO2 in the air, so we still have to completely socialize and gut our entire world economy to stop global warming or cooling or whatever...
