My son’s flight to London was cancelled yesterday and today.
It is April school vacation in New England and my son and 5 other eighth graders with their teachers and 2 parents were going to London for 6 days. They may go this summer.

Hope your son can go. But from what I have read, it seems unlikely.

Ironically, you still can fly to Iceland from America. Or Spain or Portugal or (southern) Italy or Greece. It depends on his actual destination (and connections). Perhaps he can change destinations to some place still open. The volcanic ash advisories are here:

Just open the latest (top) graphic. Anywhere within the RED polygon likely has airports practically closed. Flights within other polygons are severely curtailed.
