Tea party protesters fed up with government spending and mounting federal debt marked tax day Thursday with one of the largest rallies in the state, urging voters to boot out career politicians in the November elections.

A crowd estimated by police at around 10,000 people — from kids to seniors, but predominantly white — descended on the Alameda County Fairgrounds to express their frustration with those in office and the recent passage of the national health care bill.

There’s a poll there on whether you’re a tea party member. It needs freeping.

I really wanted to go, but it was between 4&7, and I was shuttling kids to/from their activities. I went last year.

How many were in DC?

I had to leave after somebody posted that ALL the webcams down there that would’ve showed the crowds were “down for service”.

Suprised they did add “ Mostly racist Tea Baggers” in the sentance.

There is a thread up somewhere, but it was an ok crowd. Not like Atlanta or this huge one in CA. But good enough.

Wow! Isn’t Pleasanton in the Bay area? That’s a good crowd for a liberal community.

Mostly white? Wonder if they would ever use “mostly black” in a sentence.

I went to the one in San Jose. I don’t know the exact number that showed up, but I guess it was a few thousand. They had some great speeches, especially one from a student from San Jose state - I think his name is Aaron Nabors(S?). He’s 21 years old and the whole crowd was taken at his speaking ability, his message and his poise. He’s a natural to run for office. I’m sure we’ll be hearing his name in the future.

Barbara Simpson of KSFO was there as well MCing the event. All in all it was a great party. There were a few counters, but they were completely drowned out and ignored.

Don't buy into this media race trap thing. Many, many tea party supporters know people of different races in heir daily lives.
They MUST engage them also, since their freedom is on the line too! They only need to be engaged with a little conversation. They basically know what's going down, just invite them to join in, and do not be exclusive in your political outreach as things get more confrontational in the coming months! It's a confrontation between Communist, atheistic, secularists, and hedonist verses morality, freedom loving patriots! IMHO
Marxist want to divide by race in order to conquer all! Don't let them do it!

I used to live in Hayward. All of the smart Californians moved to Pleasanton and points east. I left the state. Nothing like CA in your rearview mirror!

Yes, it is in the Bay area...

Greta had a report from there on her show tonight, and the guy that interviewed the various Tea Party members said it was happening in Nancy Pelosi’s backyard.
