It did my heart good to listen to the Great One lay into Romney for saying that we should praise Obama when he's right. He said Romney wants to smile like Reagan, and be Mr. Nice Guy (like Reagan) which is fine if you have the substance and the strength of Reagan, which Romney and the rest of the Establishment GOP lacks.

We don’t need a president that’s as wimpy as these two. We need a strong leader like Palin.

Thanks!

[from "Mitt Romney as Tarantino's Superman", New Republic]:
"Whereas most superheroes' secret identities (Bruce Wayne, Peter Parker) are their true identities
--the people they were before their parents were murdered or they were bitten by radioactive spiders
or exposed to gamma rays or what have you--Superman was born Superman.
It's Clark Kent that is the invented alias, the pose, the "costume."
And in the way Superman plays Kent--weak, self-doubting, cowardly--
we can see what he thinks of the human race overall.
It occurred to me that the same is true of Mitt Romney's desperate,
if never terribly persuasive, impersonation of a conservative Republican.

What we need is somebody new. Not these re-runs.

The great one is, as usual, absolutely right! Gingrich can do a lot of good right where he is, if he chooses to. We do not need him leading the country, he is, as has been said, too weak. Romney is an opportunist, for his own ends, and we don’t need that either.

We need someone of the frame of mind and strength of character of Mark Rubio and Adam West. Strong principled people who will actually lead, not rule, and turn this country around, not take us in the same direction slightly slower.

Does Gingrich even stand for anything at all?
What the heck is green conservatism as being pushed by a Pelosi/Gingrich/Gore cabal?

Please, Please, PLEASE let the 2012 GOP nominee be someone better than Newt or Romney.

I’ll admit I have agreed with Gingrich from time to time on certain economic and defense issues. But he’s got too much personal baggage, too much political baggage (i.e. buddying up with Pelosi, etc.), and frankly I think his time is past.

Romney? The guy does nothing for me. I’ll admit he’s very savvy on business matters, and he would more than hold his own against Obama in a debate. But Mitt Who Wants To Be President has spent way too much time running away from Mitt Who Was Governor of Massachusetts, for me to ever trust him with my vote. And the talk that he’s the one guy who can bring Michigan back to the GOP is, IMHO, just that (talk). Having a dad as governor of a state 40 years ago does not automatically mean political coattails today.

Me, I’m still holding out for the moose hunter in 2012 (Sarah!).

I step into this with great reluctance.

Reluctance because I am a huge fan of Levin. I listen to him absolutely every chance I get on my Sirius radio. He is brilliant, funny, and almost ALWAYS right.

I am also a huge fan of Sarah Palin. As much because of how much she annoys the left as anything else. I believe she’s right on the issues, smarter than given credit for, and represents what is good in America in almost every sense.

Now...please think about what I’m going to say before you respond....

Between Palin and Gingrich, HONESTLY, who would you rather see debate Obama? Who do you think really has the deeper grasp of all the issues and a superior ability to express the conservative position?

Be honest with yourself. Who is smarter? Who is more articulate? Who would fare better as a representative of conservatism and as a person to articulate the conservative vision and belief system.

I won’t answer. I’ll just ask you to ask yourself the question and try to be as honest with yourself as possible.

Hank
