Warden Message: U.S. Consulate Nuevo Laredo Closed on April 12

U.S. Consulate General Nuevo Laredo issued the following Warden Message on April 10:
At approximately 11 pm the night of April 9, an explosive device was thrown over the fence of the U.S. Consulate General in Nuevo Laredo. There were no injuries, but windows were damaged. Authorities are investigating the explosion. The Consulate General and the Consular Agency in Piedras Negras will be closed to the public on Monday, April 12. The Consulate General and Consular Agency will reopen when we are confident that we have adequate security to keep our visitors safe. During work hours on Monday, April 12, U.S. citizens with emergencies can contact the Consulate General at (011)(52)(867) 714-0512 (from the US); within Mexico, (01) (867) 714-0512.
