Taxes just went up with ObamaCare didn’t they?

And yet the deficit won’t come down.

It’s the spending, Paul, the spending!

0 wants to make sure the pool of seniors is included in his tax revenue grab. He couldn’t do it with just increasing taxes on wages. VAT covers everybody!

Instead of bailing faster, how about we patch the hole in the boat? Reduce spending on programs the government has no business being in, and no Constitutional authority to be in.

What is this guy suffering from alzheimers?

I saw this BS coming a long time ago and the democrats have been saying they are going to raise taxes for the good of the people, for years.

Volker was pretty tough but smart back in 1980.

Yeah, raising prime interest to 25% thus bankrupting thousands of businesses was a stroke of genious. /s

The best thing about that was that Americans blamed that idiot Carter for it.

To quote from an article I read today on Slate, a revolution is called for. You lead, I’ll follow!

I’d love for the Dems to float this before the election this November. Once their numbers are dwindled afterward, a VAT will go nowhere.

hey dufus (not you swiss), these taxes kill the economy and wont help pay the deficit.

How will raising taxes help when for every dollar collected the government spends $2 or more?

It is the spending, stupid.

Why not cut government by 40%?? hummmm?

He is an idiot. You cannot tax enough to satisfy a Rat’s ability to spend.

Unemployment out of control, spending out of control, and we have a first class idiot standing in as an intelligent decision maker stating that raise taxes is the way to bail us out of our leftist agenda.

And the best IMHO about Paul (I did such a good job on the "Oil For Food" investigation that I deserve to be relevant /sarcasm) Volcker...

Where were you last Fall and Winter, hotshot, when the American economic system was being anally raped by your pal the Usurper? Didn't have a F*ing word to say, did you, Volker, you shithead. Time for you to die now, asshole, of natural causes of course. AMF.

Thanks to all posters and a BIG THANKS to hinckley buzzard. I'm so sick of the statists that every one of them could eat xhit and die. Life would then tremendously improve for all of us.

Over the short term, they do reduce the deficit. The economic impact is delayed a few years, and by then they’ve turned it over to the REpublican to take the blame.

Or maybe we can fire 50% of the federal work force, eliminate HUD and the Department of Education, and a few others useless drone factories and get a better result all around!

Not to beat a dead horse since dozens of posters said it before me but . .. . CUT FREAKIN SPENDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not later. Not in combination with tax increases. Not cut the rate of increase. Not cut it as adjusted for inflaction. Just Cut Spending. If its $100 this year, cut it to $90 next year. Volker is a smart guy and yet his trapped by the same groupthink as everyone else in Washington. Maybe it is time for a Revolution.
