N&V solved it!
1952 and I drive by these everyday in road cut-outs in Austin and were too lazy to figure out what they were and how we got them. Seiches.

No, I’m in Bishop, 130 miles north of Ridgecrest. Didn’t feel it here at all, but we have lots of little quakes every day. Had a 6.2 here back in 1986 that was quite a shaker.

We were just starting Easter dinner in Palm Springs when it hit. We are used to them but it was SO long that it was surprising.
Talked to a friend in San Diego and they felt it pretty good as well.

The 7th inning stretch rendition of “God Bless America” just got destroyed by Steven Tyler at the opening game of the 2010 MLB regular season; Yanks@Red Sox.
Now back to the Quake aftermath.

My husband works in Rancho Bernardo - he said it rocked and rolled but everyone okay. I was at my Dad’s in Long Beach - near CSULB and it rolled and rolled and rolled. Seemed like it rolled for a long time. Nothing fell - his grandfather clock banged and rattled.
