Not the only cause. The Chixulub impact caused seiches that left layered turbidite deposits from Austin to Haiti.

Did Catalina tip over or capsize?

No. That can only happen to Guam. LOL

I remember in one of the earlier quakes I was looking outside and the pool water stayed absolutely still as the cement surroundings shifted to the right, causing the still water to slosh out of the pool. It was WEIRD.

Seiches can be caused by weather, earthquakes, or tsunami.

So that’s where we got all these smelly hippies, always wondered.

Yes, I’m going to look up ‘turbidite’

My mom in the SF Valley did not feel it. I’m glad she didn’t.

My apartment building rumbles when a truck goes by, so I tend to feel just about every little quake.

No sir, I am not. We didn’t feel a thing, didn’t KNOW about it till I logged on here this afternoon.

Go feeger!

Has glock woke up from his drunken stupor yet? I noticed you were going to put out a smoke signal to him or some such thing...

People Get Ready - Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart

People get ready
There's a train a-coming
You don't need no baggage
You just get on board
All you need is faith
To hear the diesels humming
Don't need no ticket
You just thank the Lord

People get ready
For the train to Jordan
Picking up passengers
From coast to coast
Faith is the key
Open the doors and board them
There's room for all
among the loved the most

There ain't no room
for the hopeless sinner
Who would hurt all mankind just
To save his own
Have pity on those
whose chances are thinner
Cause there's no hiding place
From the Kingdom's Throne

So people get ready
for the train a-comin’
You don't need no baggage
you just get on board !
All you need is faith
to hear the diesels humming
Don't need no ticket
you just thank, you just thank the Lord

Take a look at the Salton Sea and the water in the Gulf of California. There is only about a 4 foot rise in the land between the two spots. A little serious action could make for a much bigger bode of water. The city of Calipatria has a flag pole in the center of town. They fly the flag at sea level. That is 235 feet above ground level. Bring a swim suit.
