Robert Krentz, an Arizona rancher with ties to New Mexico, on Saturday was found shot on his ranch.
Carol Capas, public information officer for the Cochise County Sheriff's Office, said there were no details available about the killing of Krentz, 58, on Sunday evening. She said Krentz's ranch is about 35 miles northeast of Douglas, Ariz.
Caren Cowan, executive director of the New Mexico Cattle Growers' Association, said she grew up with Krentz's family in Arizona and counted Krentz as a member of the association. She said he joined in order to collaborate with New Mexico ranchers on issues such as border crossings and endangered species protection actions.

Well-known Douglas-area rancher is found slain (possibly related to illegal immigrants)
NM list PING!
More likely drug runners. Either way, it's way, way past time to seal the border.
Just maybe we need a white Al Sharpton, or MLK. This is what happens as rights and representation erode for Europeans.
As the crow flies this happened not very far from us. We did not really know Rob Krentz, but knew who he was. His children went to school with mine and my daughters know the family well. This is very chilling and yet I hear politicians like Janet from another planet saying the border is now secure. Maybe the border is secure where she is, but far from it here. This is a very sad thing, and a very scary thing for all of us that live near the border. Yet there are those that still want open borders and amnesty. This area is supposed to be part of the United States and even our own politicians don’t seem to see it that way.
I talked to Susana Martinez, Pubbie candidate for governor, at a tea party rally here in Hobbs a week ago. She is the Dona Ana County DA and very strong on securing the border. She has to prosecute the trash that come across and do property and drug crimes most with violence. As she has been re-elected with Democratic support, she may be the best for Governor instead of Richardson’s sanctuary policies. It would not hurt to have a Hispanic voice FOR secure borders instead of the liberal crap we get now.
Stay armed and vigilant!
Aww we know it’s the ‘Christian’ militia that ‘may’ do something that’s the real problem right? Right?/s
Two weeks ago I ran off, some young gangsters,my wife was not happy I even spoke with them.
But darn it if you do not protect your property who will. We have had equipment stolen, fences cut, our phone line box disconnected and a home intrusion.
The last time the police were looking for a illegal, suspected of a high speed car crash and chase I told the Sheriff, anything you need we will help but come to the front door and stand under the light.
He laughed and said thanks, because he knew any other door I would open with a cocked gun.
If the government does not lock this border, the people will.
Was it Curly?
I live in this area too, it’s disgusting to see our country sold out by our worthless government and US citizens murdered like this. If Rob would have shot and killed this scum in self defense, it would have been all over the news and he would have been sued out of house and home. It’s not right.
“If the government does not lock this border, the people will. “
If the govt doesn’t lock the border, the people will drop them one by one, north of the border.
What has happened to my beloved New Mexico! there was a time when you could camp, travel, pull over to sleep with just minimal security.
Now I find myself locking my doors after I go into my house even here in Arkansas.
No wonder I am always loaded for bear when I travel back to my home state of Nm.
You people just know know the half of it. Talk to my aunt and uncle in Laredo, Texas. Their story of illegal aliens (YES. ILLEGAL ALIENS. They are not ‘immigrants’. They are not ‘guest workers’) will make your blood boil
They’ll tell you about having their home and outside buildings broken into by illegal aliens.
They’ll tell you about having guard dogs and livestock killed by illegal aliens.
They’ll tell you about being afraid every time their teenaged daughters leave the house. (will they be kidnapped and sold as sex slaves to a drug cartel?)
They’ll tell you about being reprimanded by the local sheriff about firing back at an illegal alien caught stealing on their property.
They’ll tell you about a neighbor rancher who found a rotting corpse left behind on his property by an illegal pack leader.
They’ll tell you about cut fences and vandalism
They’ll tell you about the trail of filth they have to clean up weekly on their property- bottles, cans, clothes, paper, dirty diapers and human excretement.
It’s enough to make your blood boil. These are decent, hardworking people who have owned this ranch for generation- and they are considering selling out and moving for their own safety. The law won’t do sh*t about it.
