President Obama is splintering America. The passage of Obamacare was a historic victory for liberal governance. Yet, its true cost may be that it triggers the eventual breakup of the country.

I certainly wouldn’t disagree with that last.
On the issue of the similarity of Fascists and Communists, I think we are in agreement there as well. See the third quote on my FR profile page, the two paragraph one by Hayek.
The only point I am making is that the Fascists organized things to maintain the illusion of private ownership, while the Soviet and Sino Communists maintained no such illusion. And actually, after WWII a lot of businesses did return to their pre-Nazi and pre-Italian Fascist owners.
Whether you have the illusion or obversive forms of it doesn’t matter when the end result is the state controlling the capital and not the individual.
The only advantage of creating the illusion is to make it easier for the state to manage people because they are less likely to resist if they think they are free.
I refuse to call them liberals. Calling the leftists "liberal" automatically associates them with freedom and liberty, two concepts which are completely alien to leftists.
Leftists are all about control. We can see it in everything they say and do. For instance, political correctness is a control measure designed to circumvent the 1st Amendment to the Constitution.
They are leftists, statists, Marxists, socialists, or whatever else you want to call them that is appropriate, but they are not liberals.

“Figure out the places we’ll give to the lefties.
How about Ann Arbor, Austin, and State College, PA (home of the detestable Michael Mann).”
We’ll keep Austin thank you. We can send the liberals packing, . lol
The area is far to pretty to completely abandon to the libs, and The Republic of Texas would have no use for liberals anyway. We just let them live there on a temporary basis now, knowing we have them surrounded.
LOL, I remember that very same joke going around my middle school, believe it or not, with just a slight variation. At that time, the punchline was “Jimmy Carter!”
I should have listened!!
When I was a child and then a teenager in the 50’s, it was not uncommon to hear the phrase “Save your Confederate money, the South shall rise again”!
Damn if it might not just come true!
