Remember when Obama said he wanted a “national security force?” Not the national guard, but a civilian one that has not sworn to uphold the Constitution? On July 2, 2008 in a speech in Colorado Springs, Barack Obama called for a police state.
Remember that first alarming glimpse of what that army might look like? Notice how much these “Hitler youth” type young men talk about health care!
Obama just got his private army…

This whole “OMGPoliceStateImminent” hysteria is spin, looking for any comment which could, with effort, be construed as proof of “OMGObamaIsTheAntiChristWTFHitlerBBQ”. Cut it out, people, this is the kind of hysteria which DOES make the Right look like “wingnuts”. There are plenty of actual problems to worry about without inventing more fanciful distractions.

What to do indeed? Truly, such rhetoric DOES make us look crazy, and advances little. I don’t advocate ignoring it outright, but don’t subscribe to pursuing it to the exclusion of more real & relevant oppression.
I don’t see any legislative connection between this “corps” and anything of a military nature. There is, however, a distinct connection to existing “medical corps”.
Much of the hysteria I see here is based on deliberate hysteria over individual words with imputed meanings. Some don’t seem to understand that context defines the words, and this context is not militaristic.
If true, then they will have to forget what happened in Germany and act as though they can over come it here in the States. It will be a foolish move on their part.

It always is foolish, for everyone without exception. There was a thread talking about Hegel and magic — that the left create an imaginary world and the reason they can’t brook dissent is because any challenge to their ideas shows THEMSELVES that their utopia is just a fantasy. They are living in a pretend world . . . at our expense . . . and in reality at their own expense as well. But for a while they feel good about it.

I’ve been watching similar “proof” offered against multiple administrations for decades. Yes, there are suspicious-looking EOs in every administration, each of which could conceivably be abused. There’s a difference between “could conceivably be abused” vs. “absolute proof of imminent martial law with dictator-for-life Dear Leader’s private army”.

I can imagine an army of these recruits all looking like a sea of sperm shot out to vanquish any vestige of patriotism or the ole work ethic. Amyone recall “1984”?

The Commission Corps is a Federal service that dates back to 1889.
It is, however, a “Progressive” institution from the period when the “moral equivalent of war” for various peace time “issues” was a new concept.
The way I understand it, if you accept Federal funds or loans to become a doctor, you become part of this “Commissioned Corps.” I think you owe two years for each year the Feds pay for.
Those Obama logos on the chest and hats will be good targets
