When I carry a revolver it's a S&W M642 in 38sp in a pocket holster for my right front pocket. In cargo pants it just disappears. Otherwise I carry an XD 45 compact or an H&K P30 9mm both of those in a Crossbreed super tuck deluxe. Most comfy holster I've ever seen in my life. Know what comp gun is awesome to shoot? An EAA Match piece with a comp in 38 Super. Add a dot sight and it's just a blast.

I own a few with comps. My favorite is the Glock 23C with a Jarvis barrel and 165 gr ammo. The comp does a beautiful job of equalizing the recoil. You can pick up your sight picture immediately. It would be a fabulous choice for a speed based competition. The S&W 500 Mag with 10.5" barrel has a competent comp on it too. My least favorite is my S&W 629PP in 44Mag. It is not a matter of correct operation. The port often flings particles back in the shooters face and ears. I've bloodied my left ear at the range. I had a similar experience with the S&W 460 Hunter. I attribute that to shooting .454 Casull with plated bullets. They simply start disintegrating out the way out of the barrel. You need a proper jacketed bullet to shoot safely with a comp in a high pressure application. The same load in a Ruger .454 Casull (Super Redhawk) performs perfectly. 2000 fps pushing a 200 gr flatnose plated bullet. Excellent for knocking down bowling pins at 50 yds.
