Er, I read the story. He did save a life. The 16-year-old the gang-brains were trying to kill got away. Why does the reporter say the guy who stepped in "tried" to do something, implying he didn't succeed? I see this in the newspapers all the time. If the intervener saves the victim, but dies in the process, he "tried" to be a good Samaritan. But presumably failed somehow, even though he thwarted a crime? How is that failing?
It goes with liberalism, I think. They hate good Samaritans, possibly because they envy their willingness to sacrifice for another. I'm guessing they don't "get" Easter, either.
That kid will be dead within a few weeks anyway, so this adult probably died for nothing in the end.
Of course his two kids could be from a prior marriage.

It looks the same as it did the first time around... here's what I saw originally and still do...
A hardworking father of two, who was about to get engaged to his girlfriend, was stabbed to death trying to rescue a young family friend from a pack of bloodthirsty teenage thugs on a Bronx street...
Again, if someone is going to step in like that, they better make sure they're gonna win... there's no two ways about it...
In his case, he leaves two kids fatherless, and a wife-to-be, without a husband and bread-winner for the family.
That does nothing at all to help his family in any tangible way. That's what one better think about when they're in that kind of potential situation.
