On Thursday evening my husband and I made the decision to drive to Washington D.C. to be part of the "Kill the Bill" protest on the Capitol lawn.
We had been a part of the 9-12 DC Tea Party, having been part of the Tea Party movement since it's beginning, and have a vested interest in making sure this monstrosity doesn't pass (it is pending as I type this).
We drove to DC Friday evening and drove back Saturday, not able to stay for the entire event because of church responsibilities Sunday morning, but we were thrilled to be a part of this huge gathering of American citizens, and I hope these photos give a feel for what we were about, and how powerful a voice "We the People" have.
As the protest developed and our loud voice was heard, we were told by Michelle Bachmann and others in Congress that our being there indeed was having an effect on what was going on inside the Capitol building in front of us. (The Slaughter of the Constitution went down while we were there).
We broke up to go into the Congressional office buildings and "visited" the wavering Congressmen (we spent most of our time at John Boccieri's office).
If the bill passes, you can be assured that our fight is not over. We must win this battle, and if they succeed in passing this destructive, unconstitutional bill, we will fight to have it overturned.
These are a few of my photos of the event. May God bless and have mercy on America!
I always wonder why the press never speaks to the warmth or certain aura of the tea party crowds? I mean the very LOOK of the people, so American, so UN-thuggish and Non-confrontational. More like Grammy and PaPaw and aunts and uncles and families.
I don't get it.
Do they not see AMERICA when they see these good, good people?
Thank you for going, all the effort and expense that took and for taking these pictures! Amazing!!
Awesome pictures!
Absolutely!
We were on the side, closer to the Congressional offices. Looked like 60,000 to 70,000 were in attendance to me.
Thank you for being there for me and many others that could not come !!
Thank You!
We kept saying to each other as we were driving, "We are CRAZY people!"
Followed quickly by....."Ain't it FUN??" :)
I am SO proud of Americans now....us every day REAL Americans, not the impostors on the left.
We are part of something great. Something that has not happened in our lifetimes. It's just amazing.
I love the “Congressional Farm” pic! I’ve read Animal Farm more times than I can remember. I’ll have to read it again this week.
I think these protesters may make the difference. God love them! And God help us!
Awesome report and pics, Ohio. Thanks for going and standing up for us - unlike the despicable congress critters who “represent” us.
The time for peaceful protest is over.. Nancy and crew at the very least should have been shoved or spit upon as they walked by the protesters in Washington.. People do not undestand this enemy and how they perceive us.. We are perceived as weak.
PS just my angry rantings for the day.. I apologize.. I am not myself today.. I sense something is very very wrong with this bill...
We made a VERY LOUD noise for you, RnMom! :)
Especially, "Socialism, Chains You Can Believe In!"
We are living in a surreal world right now.
I'll tell what's wrong with this bill.
It's demonic.
Dynamite photographs! Can I put the “Abort the bill, not the babies” pic on Twitter?
One of my favorites too, MooseMan.
I hear you. This is a sad time in our country’s history.
Be my guest. The more who see it the better.
A great pic would be Pelosi as Marie Antionette saying, “Let them eat cake!” Followed by citizens force feeding her some “humble pie!”
Can anyone make one of those?
