On Thursday evening my husband and I made the decision to drive to Washington D.C. to be part of the "Kill the Bill" protest on the Capitol lawn.
We had been a part of the 9-12 DC Tea Party, having been part of the Tea Party movement since it's beginning, and have a vested interest in making sure this monstrosity doesn't pass (it is pending as I type this).
We drove to DC Friday evening and drove back Saturday, not able to stay for the entire event because of church responsibilities Sunday morning, but we were thrilled to be a part of this huge gathering of American citizens, and I hope these photos give a feel for what we were about, and how powerful a voice "We the People" have.
As the protest developed and our loud voice was heard, we were told by Michelle Bachmann and others in Congress that our being there indeed was having an effect on what was going on inside the Capitol building in front of us. (The Slaughter of the Constitution went down while we were there).
We broke up to go into the Congressional office buildings and "visited" the wavering Congressmen (we spent most of our time at John Boccieri's office).
If the bill passes, you can be assured that our fight is not over. We must win this battle, and if they succeed in passing this destructive, unconstitutional bill, we will fight to have it overturned.
These are a few of my photos of the event. May God bless and have mercy on America!
It was an honor and a privilege to attend and be part of something significant.
We may have lost a temporary battle yesterday, but we are NOT going to lose the war.
I posted everything on the Porch..
Thanks, Dolly!
At the same time, thousands of criminals demonstrated to have their crimes absolved and be rewarded with American citizenship.
And who did the so-called American President talk to?
Them. Not us.
We are in the middle of a takeover.
And we must resist will all our might, Regulator. ALL OUR MIGHT.
Arghhh.
I was there... Fox was off by a zero... there were at least 20,000. Probably closer to 30,000...
Michele Bachmann is gorgeous and is a bundle of energy! She and Rep. Steve King in particular were SO happy to see us in DC this weekend. King is such a regular guy... after the rally, he hung around with whoever wanted to talk to him. Plus there were 2 other rallies - one on Saturday night in front of the House chamber and another one on Sunday, below the House chamber. He came out to thank us many times. Great guy...
We did all we could to try to stop this monstrosity... I think our only hope now is to disinfect all 3 branches of government in 2012. We need a Republican (hopefully conservative) president, House and Senate in order to repeal ObamaCare.
Do you know where there are other photo threads? Thanks... :o)
I'm willing to fight for conservatives, and I think a whole lot of others are as well.
Disinfect. Perfect word for what we need to do!
I am slow to the task, but I will take care of the ping right away.

Thank you so much for going to DC and also for sharing these with us, ohioWfan!
Thanks SL:)
Funny...while I was tossing and turning last night I was thinking of Tony and while I miss him dearly- I’m almost glad he isn’t here to see this.
Great photos!
You're welcome for going. We both felt like we HAD to be there, and since our schedules opened up, we went.
We have just begun to fight!
They never had the votes. That's why they had to hastily arrange for the bogus "executive order." STUPAK=a name that will live in infamy.
That is exactly right. And in order to obtain Stupak's soul, The One paid in monopoly money (a meaningless executive order) for all to see.
If this bill had anything good about it, the dems would not have had such a problem getting it through, which they ended up using shabby tactics to do.
Exactly. Exactly, Dita!
You don't have to break arms, make threats and bribe people to vote for a good bill. Especially people in your own party.
This is a rancid bill and the Dems will pay dearly for passing it......Bart Stupak in particular.
