On Thursday evening my husband and I made the decision to drive to Washington D.C. to be part of the "Kill the Bill" protest on the Capitol lawn.
We had been a part of the 9-12 DC Tea Party, having been part of the Tea Party movement since it's beginning, and have a vested interest in making sure this monstrosity doesn't pass (it is pending as I type this).
We drove to DC Friday evening and drove back Saturday, not able to stay for the entire event because of church responsibilities Sunday morning, but we were thrilled to be a part of this huge gathering of American citizens, and I hope these photos give a feel for what we were about, and how powerful a voice "We the People" have.
As the protest developed and our loud voice was heard, we were told by Michelle Bachmann and others in Congress that our being there indeed was having an effect on what was going on inside the Capitol building in front of us. (The Slaughter of the Constitution went down while we were there).
We broke up to go into the Congressional office buildings and "visited" the wavering Congressmen (we spent most of our time at John Boccieri's office).
If the bill passes, you can be assured that our fight is not over. We must win this battle, and if they succeed in passing this destructive, unconstitutional bill, we will fight to have it overturned.
These are a few of my photos of the event. May God bless and have mercy on America!
Someone was watching us!
My quickly made sign.......
I like this hat.... :)
Have you called Mary Kuptner to get her to change her mind? ;)
Awesome pictures, thank you!
Jolly good show. Thank you for going. I wonder who the people were on the balcony.
I love the pitchfork! I would love to see thousands of them!
Mike Pence....
Joe Wilson.....
Jon Voigt........
And he came out to greet and sign autographs.....
(My husband gave an earful to Congressman Wiener......which he did not appreciate!)
Lord, have mercy on this great nation if this bill should pass, and give us the courage to fight the good fight until we get our country back!
Wow! GREAT photos!
There are more! :)
sheesh! How stupid and blind do they think we are?
I don’t know if they were Congresspeople or staff, but they were interested in what was going on. :)
I thought the pitchfork was a great idea too!
Thanks trisham!
At least 50,000. Probably more.
We were LOUD!!
Thank you, FRiend! :)
Say it loud, we hate Barack & we’re proud!
I love the last one! May I copy it?
