NIAGARA FALLS The "Slaughter Solution" on health care isn't the only thing that has come under attack in U.S. Rep. Louise M. Slaughter's world this week. Sometime early this morning, someone threw a brick through the front window of her Pine Avenue office.

“If the federal government should overpass the just
bounds of its authority and make a tyrannical use of its powers, the people ... must appeal to the standard they have formed, and take such measures to redress the injury done to the Constitution as the exigency may suggest and prudence justify.” —Federalist No. 33
It was very gripping....I hated to come to the end of the story! lol (even though fictional) I wonder what ole Bob Stone is up to these days... :) I think he’s surfacing in all of us.
Look on the bright side- It was only a brick, not lead.
It’s probably not true, but rumor has it that there was a note attached to the brick:
“You deserve a brick today.” — Signed Ronald MacDonald
Oh I like that one.
They should be worried about it. It's 1859 at this point ...

This From Thomas Jefferson
[Pre 1776]
We are reduced to the alternative of chusing an unconditional submission to the tyranny of irritated ministers, or resistance by force.
— The latter is our choice. —
We have counted the cost of this contest, and find nothing so dreadful as voluntary slavery.
— Honour, justice, and humanity, forbid us tamely to surrender that freedom which we received from our gallant ancestors, and which our innocent posterity have a right to receive from us.
We cannot endure the infamy and guilt of resigning succeeding generations to that wretchedness which inevitably awaits them, if we basely entail hereditary bondage upon them.
Our cause is just. Our union is perfect. Our internal resources are great, and, if necessary, foreign assistance is undoubtedly attainable.
— We gratefully acknowledge, as signal instances of the Divine favour towards us, that his Providence would not permit us to be called into this severe controversy, until we were grown up to our present strength, had been previously exercised in warlike operation, and possessed of the means of defending ourselves.
Don’t be too sure about that. I am in the mood to chuck a few bricks myself.
