From a top level source in the House comes the news that the Democrats are still short of the 216 votes they need to pass Obamacare. They have decided, however, to go for broke on Sunday and attempt to pass it whether or not they have enough support. They feel that only by forcing a vote can the force members off the fence. They hope that by employing all means at their disposal, they can round up enough votes for passage. But, if they don't have the votes, they will allow the measure to be defeated. One source called it a "suicide run."

I guess this about seals it. Morris says the Dems are short of votes - that just about makes it a slam dunk that the bill will pass.
(of course, even LeBron misses a slam dunk once in a while)
Awesome! Morris has never been wrong! Uh, wait...
Then let the games REALLY begin.
Games! Oh, Goody!
Can we play “Flaming Pinata Congresscritter”?
Better Dick Morris before he, um, ...
Yeah, Morris hasn’t been exactly stellar on his predictions. But Michael Barone wrote a good piece on the dem chances. He thinks there is a reasonable chance it won’t pass.
I can just see the marches on Washington already. Dan’s Bake Sale, every day for months!
No offense to you personally, but if Dick Morris told me it was going to be sunny all day, I’d bring my umbrella with me just to make sure.
Morris is an idiot.
This bill is going to pass. If it wasn’t 3 seconds before Morris wrote this, they can bank on it now because Morris made the call.
Ha Ha. That’s the first thing I thought too. Morris is always wrong.
His track record historically has been awful, but he has has some pretty good insight during this process. We’ll see....
I don’t buy it. Why would they let it be defeated if this would mean “the end” of Obama’s presidency and Pelosi’s speakership? Nah, if they don’t have the votes this thing is going get punted downfield again.
Pelosi is Thelma, Reid, Louise.
Of course we shouldn’t put our faith in Dick Morris.
But it is very, very, very, very late in the game for this still to be in doubt. Pelosi’s only hope of keeping her fragile coalition together is to create an aura of inevitability. To get wavering Dems to vote yes, it must appear to be a lock.
Otherwise, ten then twenty or even more Dems defect, and the thing loses by a significant margin.
If Pelosi can’t name the 216 votes today, she’s done. And it will end up falling more than a handful of votes short.
Let’s see if the dems really have a vote on Sunday if they do not have the votes. My guess is that if this does not pass, then some dems will be sawed off at the knee caps. Then another vote will occur with some “tweaks” to the legislation.
They can just stick HealthCare sections into the amnesty bill.
I wouldn’t trust Dick Morris as far as I can throw him.
My feeling is, the Dems will use their slush fund left over from stimulus to buy whatever they need. Since the terms Congressman, Congresswoman, and Senator are now easily interchangable with the word whore, buying votes isn’t that hard to do.
