Sean Hannity’s Freedom CONcert Scam
Debbie Schlussel Blog Post ^ | March 18, 2010 | Debbie Schlussel

Posted on 03/18/2010 12:54:44 PM PDT by TRY ONE

For the last several years, Sean Hannity and the Freedom Alliance “charity” have conducted “Freedom Concerts” across America. They’ve told you that they are raising money to pay for the college tuition of the children of fallen soldiers and to pay severely wounded war vets. And on Friday Night, Hannity will be honored with an award for this “Outstanding Community Service by a Radio Talk Show Host” at Talkers Magazine’s convention.

But it’s all a huge scam.

Can someone here familiar with Schlussel’s views tell us where she stands on the Health Insurance Reform Scam?

“You probably are not aware that Freedom Alliance flies families overseas (often) and pays for their hotel rooms, food, etc. to visit their wounded family member.”

I hope that is true (not calling you a liar), however the the Freedom Alliance doesn’t bill itself as being the benefactor of travel funds. It’s purpose is to finanically assist soliders and their families and it seems not too much money is being spent on that, according to the tax forms. And those are hard to argue with.

I do pray this is not true and if it is, Sean should get off the air.

I guess I would like to see the balance sheet, know more about how the wounded apply for and are granted the funds. Possibly there is an account holding funds for scholarships and grants. I don’t know anything about this charity, so am just trying to give Sean some benefit of the doubt. Possibly the wounded “ask” for money in a limited increment based on a specific need they have. Just suggesting there may be some explanations.

It’s weird because when Levin always talks about “backbenchers” without naming anyone, I’ve always half wondered if he was semi-refering to Hannity. I know they claim to be friends and they call each other’s show all the time, but just how much of that is contractual? Also, Hannity did give Levin his big break, he claims, so I’m sure he feels compelled not to disrespect him in anyway. But Hannity does not seem like he’s in Levin’s league by any means. And I do like Hannity. I hope this isn’t a true story, especially for the sake of the fallen heros and their children and the injured heros and their children.

Proof? How about the tax records. Did you go to the site, or just read a few lines of what was posted here?

Could be a bunch of facts with other “in context” facts being conveniently omitted.

I also hope it is not true. That said, Hannity has started to really get on my nerves and I have to change the radio dial. Most days, he is like a parrot and saying the same thing over and over for weeks at a time until the next rant that plays over and over. I’m in the car rider line and running kids around town to activities during Hannity so I don’t have a lot of alternatives at that time unless I let my 12 yr. old change the channel to rock which I can only take so much of unless it is classic 70’s & 80’s rock. :)

2008 tax filing.

Confirms the relatively small amount to scholarships compared to other expenses.

Hey Debbie! Great timing!

Just when conservatives need all the help we can to marshall the forces to defeat Obamacare, you decide to drop this made up bombshell.

I don’t buy it. Who does she like? Not Sean, not Michelle, not Laura. Probably not Rush or Mark either, but she’s smart enough to not go after the big dog and she knows Mark would tear her apart.

I smell a jealous person looking for a little free pub.

Again, great timing for your silly distraction at a critical time in our republic.

Freedom Alliance is putting together a response. As soon as I get it I will post it on Free Republic. I have faith in my sister, Col. Oliver North, Charlie Daniels, Lee Greenwood, Sean Hannity, and the hundreds of other patriots who do this to help our service people. They are good people who do not deserve to suffer from this kind of yellow journalism.

She mostly slams Obama over Israel, Islam, and jobs. She’s from Dearborn, MI.

time slot got him #2

He does do good interviews, I think so, but his original comments?

Nothing special, the average internet conservative can comment better

I think AnnaZ should take over his spot. She is way hotter on TV, too.

But I still wont marry her.

Sean has always bugged me — always trying to promote something in the cheesiest way.

He spends WAY too much time providing a forum for marxists that we aren't interested in hearing from in the first place...

It all depends on what you classify as program expenses. The program expenses look bogus. The postage, printing abd consulting fees are fron fundraising - check the tzex returns. This is going to be a big story. Hannity is going to have to dig deep to off set what is going on here.

I’m looking at their site now. They have their tax returns online. I’m waiting for an official response from the Freedom Alliance, Hannity, Ollie.

I’d still like to know exactly whom Debbie says is the performer who won’t participate anymore.

I’m not one of Sean’s greatest fans- but man, oh man, I hope this isn’t true.

Sean really needs to address this point by point.

The numbers in the article match up closely with what's on Charity Navigator. If you look at Charity Navigator, it shows:

Program Expenses $6,084,474 Administrative Expenses $365,375

Administrative expenses are the overhead. Program expenses are the monies spent for the charitable benefits of the recipients. Methinks the author may have confused the two.

I'm looking for the latest tax returns, but here's a link to 2007.

IRS tax forms that have to be disclosed because they are a charity organization.

It would have more credibility if it wasn't written by an illiterate. If a “journalist” can't write, it makes me suspect other parts of their competence. Well, if they only gave a million dollars to vets since inception, I suspect that's a million more than this blogger’s given.

If schlussel, or whatever her name is, is publishing bad information, Sean will have every right to sue her butt off. There’s no way he can ignore this.
