For the last several years, Sean Hannity and the Freedom Alliance “charity” have conducted “Freedom Concerts” across America. They’ve told you that they are raising money to pay for the college tuition of the children of fallen soldiers and to pay severely wounded war vets. And on Friday Night, Hannity will be honored with an award for this “Outstanding Community Service by a Radio Talk Show Host” at Talkers Magazine’s convention.

But it’s all a huge scam.

Did you see the tax returns? Do the tax returns show assets that might be set aside or invested for future scholarships and/or grants? Just because they took in some amount and gave out some amount does not necessarily mean there is a scam going on.

2008 tax return. Total revenue $8.7 million. Total 2008 scholarships grants: $802k

This is direct from their website. They spent more on contracting printing expenses than grants.

Only $60,000 was claimed as airfare, so you are saying they are putting the travel expense for wounded vets families under “consultant costs?”

Show me where "this guy" spewed anything about this charity. I merely chimed in that there were other things about Hannity that didn't particularly endear him to me, but that I thought he had his place. I pointed out one (for me, significant) issue where he bullied a highly regarded RC Priest on the air, and how after that, he lost a whole lot of credibility with me.

I didn't mention anything about the charity. If Ollie North has endorsed it, that's good enough for me until somebody shows me otherwise.

Did you look at the filings before / after you posted them? There's some interesting stuff in there. That back in 2005 Richard Norman was the Pres. that received no compensation. However his 'company' (The Richard Norman Company) was paid $150,000 + for consulting.

I'm not sure if this is normal or what. Truth be told I have a hard time reading these tax forms anyways, but there's some interesting stuff in there.
