I just got my census form yesterday. I don't have a problem with filling it out and did so immediately. However, there was something about it that was troubling. For each individual you list, it did NOT ask if they were U.S. Citizen. IF the census determines the make-up of House of Representative votes, then shouldn't it be based SOLELY upon the population of U.S. Citizens? IF they count everyone, then states like CA with large number of illegals will be over represented in Congress. This just doesn't seem right to me.
Rush says just put “ American” where they ask the race!!!!! I will fill mine out limited!! VERY LIMITED!
Slaves used to partly counted.
Way back during the slave years, when the federal government fixed the census by counting blacks as a 3/5 person to lower the head count in the south. Today, in order to direct federal dollars to the proper minority they are trying to lower the whites count, dilute it, with all the race crap.
The federal government is racist.
Count noses and race=other=American.
‘nuff said.
The constitution is fairly specific that all free persons residing in the states should be counted, not just citizens. The not so free persons (who btw weren’t citizens) were counted as 3/5 of a person.
I’m struggling....I’ve always been a law and order, follow the rules guy. But this year I’m seriously considering doing the civil disobedience that I sat out in the 60s. I’m thinking of telling them to stuff their fracking census. I’ll tell them how many people live at my address and that is ALL.
Sounds like you need to adopt an out of State conservative, and give them money. As we are learning, all things Congressional are determined by party counts.
If you can’t figure out whop to give too, might I suggest Marco Rubio is a really good Conservative. Or give to Michelle Bachman she needs money to defeat the Soros army ... or find your own.
Constitutionally speaking, that’s all the data they’re required to collect anyway. I’d say that you’re well within your rights to tell them who lives at your place and nothing more.
That’s what I did just the other day. Told ‘em 2. Goodby.
They didn’t say a word as they were leaving.
The census does not count citizens. It counts all people. Always has. It used to list country of origin, etc.
You need to tell them that 12 old angry white guys live here...
Your cost per unanswered question is $100 with a maximum punishment for abiding by the Constitution of $5,000.
I'll consider the money well-spent because I'm mad as hell.
Some Republicans tried to introduce legislation that would have required citizenship questions, but it had no chance in the Dim controlled Congress. There was no citizenship question in 2000, and I don’t know that there ever has been. It wasn’t such a big deal until both political parties allowed many millions to enter the US illegally and stay since the 1986 amnesty.
The real solution is to defeat amnesty and start enforcing immigration laws. That’ll take some luck this year and a big turnover in Congress and the WH in 2010 and 2012.
All the advertising centers around filling out the census so you can get money.
That’s all you have to fill in. I never fill in race or gender. I tell them that doing so is inherently racist and sexist, respectively. Been doing it for years and nobody has come knocking at my door. If they were to try to punish me they would only provide a public forum for my protest.
“IF they count everyone, then states like CA with large number of illegals will be over represented in Congress”
They see that as a feature, not a bug.
The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct.
You are on good standing
Yep. "This is how we get the money!!!"
