A longer letter explaining the city’s position. Again, I think its ban will be found to be way too wide, since it does literally ban bible studies in a residential home.

Ya know...I lived there for 15 years, Mesa Az. also. It would be nothing coming home at 7 p.m. and have the street lined with cars from my Mormon neighbors...In fact at least once a month I would not be able to pull out of my drive way...Most of the politicos in Gilbert and Mesa, Az are Mormon. It’s just a way of life here...Good people...Just not as tolerant to other religions as most would like.

I do believe we are in the mist of a war being waged between good and evil in Heaven right now. It has been prophesied in the Bible that these things will come to past in the end times and I believe you and I are living in those last days.

This is criminal act of conspiring to intentionally violate the civil rights of the church members.

I could understand reasonable limitations on the number of people at a regular gatherings, but to single out religious gatherings, when it would be legal for a much larger group to meet for a book of the month club discussion or weekly football party, is outrageous.

I genrally hate lawsuits, but the church should get an 8 figure judgment against the municipality, some officials should be jailed over this, and whatever lawyers worked on writing or enforcing this law should be disbarred.

This would be a great way for a city to get more bible studies started. Tell people thay can’t do it.

Violation of the First Amendment - freedom to associate. A city can’t “zone” in violation of the First Amendment. It’ll be slammed in court.

They going to apply this to birthday parties, neighbor get-togethers, T-ball team cook outs, Super Bowl parties, visits from grandma, etc, etc?

Sounds like a good tar and feathering are worthy of these idiot “public servants”.

Zoning is certainly not always law, and often even when it is, it is not always enforceable.

This would be met with a big, roaring belly laugh in the faces of the perpetrators of the ban, an admonition to them to stay off of, and away from my property, and a telephone number where they could reach my lawyer, should they be so ill-advised as to attempt any sort of enforcement.

Talk about dumb...sheesh!

Same thing happened in San Diego, CA. The city said it was a church, because they met weekly and mentioned Jesus.
Eventually, the city backed off but it took awhile.
The problem started when the neighbors complained about the parking issue.

John 16: 2-4

It always amazes me when Christians act like they weren't warned what discipleship would cost.

Many Christians and FReepers celebrating the usurpation of private property freedom when the government started implementing tobacco bans on privately owned property. I warned them then and now I see that the sword they made is now slitting their throats.

Welcome to the party.
